Madonna Invites Mercy's Dad To Help Raise Her Their Daughter
Madonna will return to Malawi, her daughter Mercy's home country, to meet the girl's father James, according to reports.
Apparently the Queen of Pop is hoping to expose Mercy to her native culture and to learn more about the country herself in addition to spending time with the girl's dad, James Kambewa, a 24 year-old porter.
"She realizes her kids need a sense of home and she's determined to do all she can to give that to them. She doesn't want to deny Mercy anything in life - and that includes meeting her dad if that's possible," a source tells the UK's Mirror.
Madonna's adopted son David Banda, also from Malawai, will accompany the two on the trip and the trio will meet with the country's president, Dr. Bingu Wa Mutharika, according to the report.
Madonna's adoption of the young girl cause controversy after it was revealed the girl's father wanted to custody of Mercy. Her birth-mother died just weeks after giving birth and Kambewa decided to put his daughter in an orphanage because his less than $50/month wages weren't enough to support a child, he felt.
