Well, her hair anyway. The tiny twin stepped out of the Neil George Salon yesterday afternoon with some seriously straight blonde locks. We haven't seen her hair look this neat (or this light) in a long time!

Smiling! This can't be real, I must be dreaming.

Mary-Kate Olsen looked to be in a perfectly pleasant mood outside Toscana in Brentwood last night. She even gave us a little wave! I know the Olsens smile, it's just so rare to see MK do it!

Poor little Ashley, she looked kind of grumpy as she tried to keep a low-pro leaving her West Village apartment this morning in New York City.

Could it be because her neighbors have complained to Page Six that she and her sister are "two spoiled brats" who, with their security standing guard have an almost "military presence" in the 'hood?

Apparently, the constant presence of the big, black chauffeured SUVs parked in front of the townhouse (like the one she's getting into) are kept idling all hours of the night, only adding to the annoyance.

But the twins deny any wrong-doing, and claim their neighbors are being rather, well, un-neighborly.

"If there were significant issues, you would think that the neighbors would address Ashley or Mary-Kate directly, rather than calling the media," says a rep for the twins.

Mary-Kate and Nicole shot the shit (some high-heeled, cool, expensive shit) at the Proenza Schouler fashion show in NY Sunday night, just a couple weeks after MK was seen sharing an 'intimate' moment with Nic's baby daddy Joel Madden, on a tour bus after his NYC gig.

Water under the bridge? Old friends? Nicole has nothing to worry about?

Apparently MK is going broke! No, not really broke, but Us Weekly reports that the 1/2 Olsen is "burning through her money."

Girlfriend makes $40 million a year with her sister Ashley, mind you, so "burning thing" cash is, in her case, almost an Olympic sport!

Us' sources say MK has been advised to cut down on "travel, jewelry, clothes, and security."

The report also says her publicist a source says MK's finances are just fine, thank you.

Mary-Kate Olsen must have breathed a sigh of relief today when she learned that the federal investigation into Heath Ledger's death was closed, and that the DEA subpoena against her will not be enforced.

The Associated Press reports that prosecutors have called off the case "because they don't believe there's a viable target." According to a government official, the subpoena is no longer valid because it was contingent upon prosecutors pursuing the case; however, the case could be brought back if evidence of a crime surfaces.

As you may recall, Mary-Kate's masseuse, Diana Wolozin, was the one who discovered Heath's body in his New York City home on January 22, 2008. Wolozin phoned Mary-Kate before calling 911, which raised questions as to what involvement, if any, the 22-year-old actress had in Heath's death.

The NYPD may have left Mary-Kate Olsen alone in the wake of Heath Ledger's death earlier this year - but the DEA's coming full steam ahead for the pint-sized actress!

Access Hollywood reports that the Drug Enforcement Agency has issued a subpoena which would force Olsen to testify about her role in the events surrounding Ledger's tragic overdose in January.

Specifically, the feds plan to pump Olsen for information about how Ledger might have acquired certain prescription drugs found in his apartment without a prescription, including the powerful painkiller OxyContin.

The actress' role has been the subject of much debate since it was revealed that Heath's masseuse called Olsen before calling 911 after discovering the actor's body. To make things even more mysterious, recent reports claim that Olsen has refused to speak to the feds unless they guarantee her immunity from prosecution.

Yesterday, Olsen's lawyer told the media that "Mary-Kate Olsen had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body, and she does not know where he obtained them."

Calls to the DEA spokesperson were not returned in time for publication.

Guess we'll see just how much Mary-Kate knows once she testifies - unless she starts pleading the fifth, of course!

After news broke yesterday that Mary-Kate Olsen had been reluctant to speak with DEA officials until they granted her immunity, many assumed that the pint-sized actress had something to hide.

However, her attorney, Michael Miller, has hit out at suggestions that Mary-Kate may have had something to do with the unprescribed Oxycontin found in Heath's system.

"Mary-Kate Olsen had nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body, and she does not know where he obtained them", said Miller in a statement. He went on to say, "regarding the government's investigation, at Ms. Olsen's request, we have provided the government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr. Ledger's death and the fact that Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed."

I guess we won't really know what the feds want from Mary-Kate until they either grant her immunity or serve her with a subpoena!

Looks like the paps aren't the only ones to receive the silent treatment from Mary-Kate Olsen - the New York Post reports that the Full House actress has refused to be interviewed about her friend Heath Ledger's death!

Not Talking To Cops
The Post claims that Mary-Kate's lawyer has repeatedly fended off the feds seeking to interview the pint-sized actress about Ledger's behavior, possible drug abuse, and the events immediately leading up to his death in January.

Police have been avidly pursuing an interview with Olsen ever since word got out that Heath's masseuse - the first person to discover the actor's body on the scene - called Mary-Kate before contacting the authorities.

Could M-K ID OCs?
According to the Post, the Drug Enforcement Agency thinks Olsen might be able to shed some light on a quantity of OxyContin - a powerful painkiller - found on the scene of Ledger's death.

Numerous drugs were found in Ledger's system and around his apartment, but all were legally obtained through two physicians - except for the Oxys.

The Post says investigators "are trying to ID the source of the OxyContin," according to a source. "Did it come from a dealer, from a friend? If he had a bottle from a friend, was it taken by someone else before police responded? That is what is trying to be determined."

Not Without Immunity?
The Post also alleges that Olsen might be willing to speak to authorities - if they can grant her immunity from prosecution.

Mike Miller, Olsen's lawyer, told the DEA that unless his client were guaranteed immunity, she would exercise her constitutional right and plead the Fifth.

When reached for comment by the Post, Miller would only say "We are not going to comment on whether there is a criminal investigation".

We sure hope Mary-Kate opens up to the cops soon - this sad story deserves a full explanation!

The former Full House star, decked out in jean shorts, a black jacket and tons 'o bling, headed into Maxfield on Melrose yesterday for a little shopping, and then back to her house. She might've remain tight-lipped on that whole Spencer thing with us, but we did happen to notice her boots:

Dayum, again, only Mary-Kate could pull these off! We looove them on her.

The Star certainly seems to think so - a few of the troubled twin's friends told the mag that she needs to seek help and return to rehab!

"Mary-Kate seriously needs to get to rehab, but she doesn't think she has a problem," a source tells the Star. "She thinks she's young, hip, and entitled to live her life as she sees fit. But it's affecting everything."

The Star cites one particular recent incident (pictured above) where Mary-Kate was captured tumbling to the ground in a parking lot, claiming that the young starlet was "so out of it" and took a quick vacation to a holistic health spa to "detox".

Well, we dug up video of Mary-Kate's big trip so you could judge for yourself - is this girl out of control or not?

After Mary-Kate's jabs at Spencer Pratt on the Letterman show the other night, Mr. Us Weekly responded with an exclusive statement to his favorite magazine:

"I don't really get why she'd use my name to get press for her little indie film [The Wackness] that no one's going to see ... I know I've made it in Hollywood when a famous troll is talking about me on Letterman," Pratt told the mag. "I forgive her, though, she's had to go through life as the less cute twin, which must be tough."

They say this town (Hollywood) is really so small, but who woulda ever made a connection between Mary-Kate Olsen and Spencer Pratt!

MK told David Letterman last night that the two went to high school together, where Spencer often threw a tantrum on the soccer field, walking out on several games.

But when Dave expressed shock that the guy would even break a sweat (cuz no one's surprised that guy has temper tantrums), MK said "oh my God, that brings up stories!"

EW.

She thankfully declined to elaborate on the topic.

The NY Post reports that the Olsen twins are just not getting along these days.

Apparently, Mary-Kate and Ashley are doing all their in-person meetings (for their clothing line, Elizabeth and James) separately. "Something happened between them, and they haven't worked it out," a source says. "It's been going on for a while."

Last time we saw the duo together was at the Costume Institute's Gala at the Met in early May... and they looked perfectly happy and bubbly together.

I don't think I can go on knowing the Olsen twins are fighting - work it out, girls!
