Has Matty Found a New BFF?

All we ever used to hear was "Matt & Ben," but lately, it's been all about "Matt & Obama"!

Matt Damon made an appearance in his adopted home state of Florida yesterday to urge Floridians to vote for the Democratic candidate.

It seems that celebs have inserted themselves into politics for quite some time, and although it's admirable to use your celebrity to promote something you're passionate about, do you really think anyone cares who Matt Damon votes for?

I'm thinking probably not!

When the celebrity is someone fairly intelligent like Matt Damon, then yes I am interested in who they are for. But when it's an idiot like Elizabeth Assholecrack from THE VIEW, then I could care less who they are for.

Posted by: Anonymous

No, I don't give a rat's a** who any of them vote for. I read the issues and make up my own mind.

Celebrities of this stature don't live in the real world. They don't call it la-la land for nothing.

Seriously! Celebs who make 15 million a movie could care less if they have to pay a little more taxes. For the little worker bees like me, every little bit counts. Another thing I don't get is how all these celebs could back someone that supports murder of innocent babies. Who are they expecting to be our next generation of movie goers if America has the right to kill them. Then again, I am talking about Hollywood. All of them including the guys have probably been involved with an abortion at some point of their lives. The just have the money to cover it up! McCain/Palin 2008! Come on Florida, get out and VOTE REPUBLICAN!

11:03/18, so I guess you think that celebs aren't people with functioning minds, well, unless they are talking for your candidate! You're probably just pissed that this is the closet thing to speaking your mind in a public venue as you'll ever get! Bitter much?

I think it's great he's out speaking for Obama, especially when such a dumb ass like Hasselbeck can talk about the never ending discussion of Palins clothing, come on will you, let it die will you, your making it worse for Palin by keeping that story alive, come on go back to the View and shut your mouth.
Come on Florida and every other state and VOTE DEMOCRATIC ALL THE WAY BABY..

Damon kept his remarks on Obama's platform and the importance of voting ... he attracted attention because, well, he's Matt Damon. But he also seemed intelligent and thoughtful, just the kind of supporter that would gravitate to the progressive Obama ticket. He was neither shrill or pushy... he did a great job rousing the voters. It's what he was supposed to do.

It's nice to have someone articulate and charming speak out on the election, without dirty tactics or ugly words.

This country needs to look forward, something that would be impossible with the aging McCain in office along with his uninformed, lightweight ultra conservative running mate. Palin is dangerously ignorant of her limitations and lack of depth. Being "hot" isn't a qualification for high office.

Posted by: Proud have a voice and a name CINDY!!

"Anonymous" is that how you all want to be know! You have your opinions but no name behind them...Cowardly! Under the Obama office this country will turn into a dictatorship! Just what we need, more people telling us what to do all in the name of human rights...Everyone with the same healthcare, everyone having the priveledge of having a UNITED STATES drivers lisence. While the working class people working 50-60 hrs a week pays for it all!! Who cares if Palin has top notch clothes, if that is all you can find to pick on her then I say she is having a pretty good day!!

Posted by: Anonymous

Ah well, Palins clothes are the least of the replubicans worries, how about lack of IQ, how about believing in creationism, besides those clothes are really only top notch if you're a librarian. Matt Damon is a smart guy, obviously seeing as he believes in Obama and the US wont turn into a dictatorship, what bollocks. Obama is just what the US needs, he's a JFK, Martin Luther combo, you're a lucky country to have a politician like that.

To 12:07: it means that they have their opinions and i have mine and the fact that they live in a fantasy world is my opinion. if you believe otherwise, that's your right. that's the beauty of our country, isn't it? that we can have opinions, but that others don't have to live by them?

Posted by: Anonymous

This country won't turn into a dictatorship under Obama, but it will turn into a socialist society - which is exactly what the foreigners posting on this site would like. Thanks, but no thanks.

people have to calm down, matt is an intelligent person. and i think obama is a good candidate, if people won't for him based on political issues that they've read on fair enough. but some people are just too racist and just say no based on his race, and that's wrong.

Posted by: Anonymous

i think obama will make a great president, i'm judging it on what i know about him. i'm a young person who was told many times while looking for a job, have experience. well everybody had knowledge first and then put it into action. you have to have knoledge first( e.g school education, then job). obama has the knowledge, unlike bush who messed up. at least this is my opinion, that's how i'm thinking! free counrty, you're free to vote, do what you want.

i don't understand people who get upset when a campaign is done, like this one. true there are celebs but still celebs or not, they're americans too and election concerns everybody. only difference is they're famous, if it was normal people nobody will be complaining. but what people forget is, that campaigns are not illigal otherwise NOBODY will be doing it. including us non celebs. since it's not a crime, then people need to calm down and let it go.

Posted by: Anonymous

Don't be fearful of socialist ideals, it's not communism. You can still be a capitilist nation with a bit more concern for your fellow US citizens. If you're worth a gazillion dollars you should pay more for the priveledge. besides that affects.... hmmm 1% of people. One doesn't need to protect what one has to the point of paranoia, you can't take it with you.

Posted by: Anonymous

Well I have a lot of Canadian friends and I've learned that I like our system better and screw mattie he is delusional without benny by his side.

Posted by: Gin

If Obama wins then Damon will pay more in taxes. GOOD!! Now I can quit work so Damon's money will go to me.

Posted by: Anonymous

it's good to pay taxes, if you're proud of your country that is.

Posted by: According to you, guess they're not proud of their country

Tell that to the people that make less than 20k a year, don't pay taxes, and are going to get (handout) money from other peoples taxes under Husseins plan.

Posted by: Obama

Eat your heart out Sarah Silverman...
Now I'm F*ckning Matt Damon!!!

Posted by: Robin Hood

Obama isn't even original...I came up with taking from the rich to give to the poor over 400 years ago.

Posted by: Anonymous

just because you have your opinion on obama doesn't mean you'll change people who loke him and vote for him.

Posted by: Anonymous

speaking on taxes, i lived in germany for 10 years and their taxes is the highest but the standard of living is really good. plus rent is way cheap, for a nice clean apartment, their system is in fact great. you have to know why it's high and people are very hard working and are well. high taxes deosn't mean low standards of living, or low paying jobs!!

after all this mess from bush, things need to be fixed in this counrty. and taxes do fix things here and there, because for one a lot of money was spent on nonsense. so how do people expect for them to be fixed?, for free?, when the economy is so bad now.. because we have a lot of fixing to do, and things aren't fixed for free. at least obama is telling it as it is, and not sweeting talking people by saying will fix things but oh it'll be for free. c'mon do you go to shop and get your clothes for free...we're not stupid!

Posted by: Anonymous

i was watching the news in europe, where some countries over there are cutting down on things like xmas parties, prices of thing going up a lot because of the economy crisis. well we have the same situation in america (bad economy). that's what happens, at least until the crisis goes down. like the person above said, how do you people solve things without money. it shows that some people are lazy and prefer to run away, and forgot that it's not mccain or obama that put us in this mess. at least when clinton left, he didn't leave a mess for bush to clean after!!!!!

Posted by: Anonymous

quit complaining about taxes, other countries still pay more than we will if he wins and those guys have a great life. i like a candidate who says it straight and it makes sense, nothing is free plus this mess we have to fix. yeah right like the fairies will just fix the economy with no taxes, wouldn't it be lovely if the fairies did!!

Posted by: Anonymous

^You will worry more about taxes when you are old enough to get a job and start paying them.
