I think it's wonderful when anyone can address a problem they are having in their personal life, it's even harder to do when you are in the spotlight. The press should back off and stop hounding the likes of Matthew and David and allow them their privacy while they deal with their issues.

It is very obvious that the author of this post has not a clue what AA or NA is all about! Knowledge is power and this post shows you have NONE of the later.

Matthew Perry has been clean and sober for some time and is continuing to do so by attending meetings. This is what AA and NA is all about. Admitting that you are powerless over drugs and alcohol.

You idiots. If you knew anything about AA and being an alcoholic, you'd know it's an ongoing battle. There's not a day when they don't think about alcohol. It's a constant presence for them. That doesn't mean he's relapsed, it means that he's probably trying to keep up with it. You never stop recovering from being one.

AA literature that discourages the fellowship being represented by any one person, whether it be a celebrity or not. It is not anyone's business whether or not he is using alcohol or attending meetings. But by all means, please let us know next time he takes a shit; that is probably a less personal matter than someone's recovery.

I agree with 7:51. GOOD for Matthew for working the steps! I wish that he was good friends with Owen Wilson rather than that pothead Woody. Addicts shouldn't be smoking pot and drinking. It doesn't make it "okay" just because it's not heroin. Owen needs to be working the program like Matthew is!
