PETA Uses Michelle Obama In "Fur-Free And Fabulous" Campaign Without The First Lady's Consent

Posted on Wed Jan 6, 2010 07:46 AM PDT

PETA's new "Fur-Free And Fabulous" campaign features images of the first lady alongside Oprah Winfrey, Tyra Banks and Carrie Underwood in the ad that's running in Washington D.C.

Although Michelle Obama previously stated that she doesn't wear fur, she didn't consent to appear in this ad!

"We did not consent to this," said a spokesperson for the First Lady's office.

"The fact is that Michelle Obama has issued a statement indicating that she doesn't wear fur, and the world should know that in PETA's eyes, that makes her pretty fabulous," says PETA president Ingrid Newkirk in a statement.

So is this ad fabulous or not?

Fabulous, but they should have asked!
