An Audience Fit For A Prince
Given the high prices of tickets for Prince's big concert at the Roosevelt Hotel last night ($3121 for a pair of seated tickets!), we were a little described to see any "normal" people there - well, until Michelle Rodriguez turned up and started howling about how, now that "all the Hollywood cats are locked up or in rehab", she's just a regular old gal! Of course, just a few minutes later we caught Michelle howling obscentities at a passing motorist - she claimed to just be joking, but from our perspective it looked like she Lost her temper in spectacular fashion!
Other sightings at the ritzy gala included Penelope Cruz and her fantastic yellow dress (not that we're arguing with results, but wouldn't a purple outfit have been more appropriate?), Erykah Badyu, Nas, Samantha Ronson, and Madlib. We also spotted Suge Knight lurking in the background, although the Death Tha Row mogul was on his best behavior. (Hey, we'd probably be afraid of Michelle kicking our ass too!)
Some of you might be a little taken aback by that three-grand price tag for tickets - well, you might be interested to know that that also includes both admission to a late-night improvisational jazz set helmed by the Man in Purple himself and a full VIP dinner cooked by Prince's personal chef. Wonder if he served pancakes?
