The Social Network Brings In $8 Million On Opening Day

Posted on Sat Oct 2, 2010 11:20 AM PDT

facebookmovieposter.jpg The Social Network has topped the domestic box office with $8 million in its first day of release, which industry experts estimate could give it more than a $25 million opening weekend.

Jesse Eisenberg plays Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg in the film, and it's been getting positive reviews from just about every critic across America as well as early Oscar buzz. Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin teamed up with director David Fincher for the biopic, and though we haven't gotten the chance to see it yet, it's high at the top of our to do list this weekend.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps brought in $3.3 million on Friday, while the bank robbery thriller The Town brought in $3.1 million.

Oh, and I'll just say right now, I plan on seeing this twice in the next week!
