Even though most of the bigger celebrities are scheduled to appear tomorrow night's Austin premiere of Grindhouse, Robert Rodriguez' and Quentin Tarantino's mash note to trashy flicks, the film's producers couldn't resist rolling out the blood-red carpet for a night glorifying gore last night at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles! And unsurprisingly, the stars turned out in a big way - we caught Rose McGowan, Rosario Dawson, Naveen Andrews, Eva Mendes, Marley Shelton, Carla Gugino, Freddie Rodriguez, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Sydney Tamiia Poitier making the scene! We also caught Kobe Bryant, who doesn't appear in the movie - but with how he's been slashing through defenses and cutting to the net lately, all the action probably suited him just fine!
A Rose by any name other than McGowan wouldn't be as hot!

For the benefit of y'all who haven't heard about Grindhouse yet, the format is almost cool enough to warrant the purchase of a ticket by itself - Rodriguez and Tarantino directed one short-ish movie each and then got other creative folks to make trailers for nonexistant movies just to lend an aura of authenticity to the experience. That's right - trailers aren't just for sitting through impatiently anymore!
