Nicole Richie headed into traffic school yesterday in style!

Are those cowboy boots? Sexy! Then again, Nic's known for setting fashion trends, not following them!

What, you thought Nicole Richie's photo shoot with Harlow for Harper's Bazaar would be all pix and no dish? Guess again - the mag sat down with the celebutante and got one of her most candid interviews yet!

Mostly, as you might expect, she spoke about what her life's like now that she's a proud mother. She really stressed her newfound responsibility, mentioning that she'd been "nervous" the day before Harlow's pictures appeared on the cover of magazines. "I was just being a protective mom," she said. "If I didn't put a picture out, it would have been 10 times worse."

Of course, motherhood isn't all stress - in fact, Nicole says it's almost second nature! "Everyone talks about how difficult [motherhood] is in the first three months, but I absolutely love it... Every single thing is for Harlow. Joel took me out last week, and he was like, ‘Why don’t we go out and have a shopping day?’ But I ended up only going to kid stores…I didn’t get to buy shoes or anything.”

When it comes to marriage, however, she made it clear that she and Joel won't be getting married anytime soon. "One day, yeah - not tomorrow, not today," she told the mag. "We are committed to our family. I'm 26. I've definitely had a very eventful year. So right now, it's about me enjoying my time with my daughter."

Still, things between Joel and Nicole couldn't be better - "He’s never tried to change me. And if anything, we were friends first. We just have fun together. When we’re apart, we just get on iChat and don’t even say anything to each other…He likes to get girly sometimes. But he’d kill me if he knew I said that.”

And, of course, Harper's had to bring up her old friend Paris - and whether she'd be the next celebutante to find herself in a family way. Nicole's response? “Ha, nooo…But I don’t think anyone would have bet on me.”

It's hard trying to maintain a low profile, especially when you're Nicole Richie!

We spotted Harlow's mama attending traffic school earlier today, trying to go all incognito in a dark hat and shades.

Harlow's mommy Nicole Richie made a quick stop at a doctor's office on Robertson this Friday afternoon; afterwards she stayed in the car while her driver picked up a prescription at Mickey Fine Pharmacy.

Nicole Richie hasn't been too happy to see the paps catching her attending traffic school in the past - but after yesterday, we're wondering if she's turned over a new leaf!

Not only did Nicole smile as she walked into her school yesterday out in Casa Loma, but she even strolled her way in - a far cry from Lindsay's mad dash into class last week! Might Nicole be warming to the press? Hey, it runs in the family!

Although we'd never doubt their affection for each other, we still kinda think that Nicole Richie and Joel Madden make for a crazy pair - just look at the way they shop!

Yesterday, we caught Nicole and Joel stopping by the DCMA Collective to do a little shopping. DCMA is, of course, owned in part by Joel, but still - does Nicole strike you as the kind of girl to go for skater chic?

Yeah, us either - which was why we were tickled pink to see the diminutive diva drag Joel over to Diane Von Furstenberg to look for something for herself! Now that's the Nicole we know!

So remember when BFFs Paris and Nicole went out clubbing with their Madden brother boyfriends - not to mention Paris' sis Nicky! - and when Paris and Benji left, Benji accidentally drove over a pap's foot?

As part of her DUI sentencing, the hot mama continued her weekly traffic school sessions in Hollywood earlier this week, accompanied by baby daddy Joel, natch.

But what do we think of her school uniform? Loves it or hates it?

A typical celebutante outing turned dangerous for one photog and his foot when Paris and Benji's SUV accidentally rolled over it!

Penji arrived at Foxtail without incident followed by Nicole and Joel who were a bit camera shy.

Upon leaving, Paris was more than happy to "get her pose on" for the photogs snapping away in front of her car, as Benji attempted to push through the paparazzi web. But one unlucky guy didn't get out of the way fast enough! Benji paused but decided to keep on riding.

On the fashion tip ... the dress looks like one I had in fifth grade; I'm loving the baby Balenciaga biker bag and the Louboutin wedges.

When she first saw the paps yesterday afternoon, Nicole Richie's first concern was hiding her own face. It didn't take long, however, for Nicole's focus to shift - to whatever was concealed behind the black curtain in her SUV!

UsMagazine.com reports that the couple's little baby Harlow said, "Hi!" to her grandma Brenda Richie!

Momma Richie told the mag's reporter at the ASCAP Pop Awards last night that Harlow blurted it out one day and that the baby constantly tries to talk to Nicole! The proud grandparent also said Harlow's trying to crawl!

She'll be playing an instrument by age 2 and she'll join Good Charlotte by the time she's 5!
