One would have to eat sushi or raw fish, for that matter, at practically every meal every day for her baby to get mercury poisoning. You can eat raw fish (sashimi) and sushi (sometimes made with raw fish) while pregnant, just not all the time. Think about all those coastal nations around the world, where the main protein is fish—what would all those pregnant women do? I ate fish during both of my pregnancies. My children are fine.
