Between the years 1985 and 1995, the incarceration rate nearly doubled. The USA is growing prisons at a rate of about 10% per year. That is not because the USA suddenly has increasing number of criminals. The country is using capitalist forces to become increasingly fascist. One year after Rep. Patrick Kennedy of Rhode Island checked himself into rehabilitation after crashing his car into a vehicle barrier on Capitol Hill because he was visibly impaired, he testified about drug rehabilitation at a little-noticed hearing Tuesday of the Senate Health Committee.

Kennedy in 2006 said a sleep aid had caused him to get up and drive in his sleep, but before the crash that night he was seen at the Hawk and Dove bar on Capitol Hill. Republicans on the Senate committee did not ask him about his use of rehab to avoid consequences of his accident.

She got caught violating that not once, but twice. And she got off with a warning, no new citations. Those were not normal breaks that all of us would get here in LA.

So I believe the sentence is appropriate.

I agree. I find her jail sentence is be completely absurd. The judge is acting as if she broke her probation by getting yet another DUI when that is not the case. She was wrongfully informed that she could drive and was sober. I think a better punishment would have been community service. Heck Naomi Campbell physically assaulted someone and never got any jail time. All she got was community service and I think physically assault is a lot worse than driving on a suspended license. The judge and prosecutor are abusing their power and just wanted to make an example out of her which the law is not supposed to do.

Also I want to clarify something people are saying Paris never enrolled in an alcohol-related class like she was supposed to. That is completely wrong. She simply had a harder time finding a class that would take her b/c of the paparazzi and stuff. She has been enrolled and in fact is close to completing the program if she hasn't already.

Yup, that what I went thru. Released on my own recog but it took about 11 hours and I was arrested by LA sherriffs. I got probation but that was with 40 hours of community service.

And I had to carry a piece of paper with me in the car at all times, with my work schedule and when I was allowed to drive. i got cited for driving to a dentist appt. when I didn't have it in writing. More probation.

as someone who has recently been given custody of my two nieces(8&12),because a driver "who was driving when she wasn't supposed to" killed my beloved sister and her husband-no actually i don't think it's too much.
