She's no where near as popular as she wants the public to believe. This is why she has to buy so much of her own pubicity. The fact that no one showed up to see her film in theatres pretty much says it all. It was one the lowest grossest films in history, and was lampooned by 95% of the critics.

That's why she had her PR people pimp the press release about the "generous" donation. She's desperate for good publicity since she is just as disrespected today as she was a year ago -- perhaps even more so.

So Paris has been keeping her promises? What a hoot. I've only posted a few comments on x17, but am adding this one because this PR hype is completely out of control. Here is what most of us out here think:

Everybody knows that interest in PH is at an all-time low, and that she has been vilified for not keeping her promises, among other things. Her movie bombed, and her phony comments to the media this past year have only made things worse.

She literally had no choice but to write that check and get more involved recently. It's called "survival PR." Especially since she has that silly reality show coming up. Her numerous critics and tens of thousands of negative Internet posts had a LOT to do with it. It seems to us that their message to Hilton was: Put up or shut up. It also seems to have worked.
