Note that Paris Hilton was NOT charged with drunk driving.
They only charged her with the lesser offense of Reckless Driving because they knew they could not win on 0.08

Paris also did NOT plead guilty.

She pled (yes,that's how we say it in California) NO Contest, big difference.

The outcome was fair, given that she had no prior offenses.

Probabtion in Paris Hilton's case means she can still attend events.
But she can't get caught driving drunk. She wasn't drunk the first time either.
