While I don't agree with her drinking and driving and think she should be punished, that's not what makes me angry. What irritates me is that she's thumbing her nose at the justice system and she's getting away with it.

If she's being punished, then why was she planning a party tonight? How is that punishment?

Why was she going to be allowed to call in instead of report in person?

Why did she get out of jail for "medical" reasons?

Why did she get to see her OWN Dr and not one provided by the state?

Paris Hilton, who is serving her jail sentence from her Hollywood Hills home, has been given another break. She can call in to her Friday court hearing by phone instead of appear in person.

The hotel heiress was headed for a courtroom showdown that could put her back behind bars, as prosecutors sought to hold sheriff's officials in contempt for releasing her early from jail.

Hilton was originally ordered to report to court at 9 a.m. and the judge signed an order for deputies to bring her in a sheriff's vehicle from her Hollywood Hills home, said Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini.

However, Friday morning, Parachini said she would be allowed to take part in the hearing by telephone.

"She's gonna be appearing by phone," he said. The reason for the change was unclear.

Paris Hilton be brought to court Friday for a hearing on her early release from jail rather than listen to the proceeding by telephone.

The decision by Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was announced by court spokesman Allan Parachini shortly before the start of a hearing that could put the 26-year-old hotel heiress behind bars again for violating probation in a reckless driving case.

"Judge Sauer has instructed the Sheriff's Department to go to Ms. Hilton's residence, pick her up and bring her here. That is happening now," Parachini told reporters outside the courthouse.

How did 3 days become 5? This is ridiculous! I've been watching CNN for about an hour and even though they have talked about other news, they keep coming back to Paris. They even use her for their transitions to other stories! We're supposed to be spreading democracy and justice to other countries and we can't even decide what to do with a 26-year old socialite who is a DUI repeat offender. I believe this is not a light issue and the way it is ultimately handled is a big deal.

I am an African American, but I believe this has nothing to race. This is about celebs/rich vs regular/poor or less rich people. The whole damn system is corrupt!
