these are people who have CLASS. he was one of the best male tennis players EVER. he chose to retire to get married to his beautiful actress wife and create a lovely family. they are not media whores nor do they have anything even remotely "questionable" or "negative" in their pasts.

there are very few people like this who are also celebrities....thus your inability to appreciate them and respect them. it's normal for ignorant people to be scared of things/people you can't relate to or understand. they will continue to live their blessed and admirable existence while you all will continue to drool over britney, lindsay and paris.

I love Pete...used to watch him play tennis when he'd come to Australia...always a gentleman...so nice to see him so down to earth and nice to the camera guys! And yes, his wife is beautiful and also seems lovely.

Sampras was one hell of a tennis player but is not the Greatest of ALL time because he never won the French Open;Roger Federer unlike Sampras made the finals in Paris twice already only to lose to the possible best clay court player of all time in Rafael Nadal!
Had Sampras ever make the finals in ALL 4 slams?Hell No!
did he even win 3 out 4 slams like Federer did for 2 straight years?Hell No!
for all his accomplishments on the courts;Sampras simply was horribly on clay and you've got to be able to win all 4 like Rod Laver did;so far only Federer has gotten close.

She's not only a former Miss Teen USA, she's also an actress: she's one of the leads in The Wedding Planner and Billy Madison among other films, so I'd assume people reading this website should be more familiar with her than with him... And until Federer actually WINS the French Open, your point is moot, isn't it? (BTW, Sampras reached the semis in Paris, so there goes your argument...)
