It's pure marketing. They pretend they have a real life love triangle. In fact, she is not involved with either one of them at all.

Taylor and Kristen have a brother-sister dynamic. Rob and Kristen are in love, or something along those lines.

Rob and Kristen have said all along that New Moon is Taylor's movie. If Rob and Kristen had shown any sort of affection for each other last night, that's all anyone would have talked about. Last night was about the movie, not about Rob and Kristen's personal lives.

i don't get when hugging your best friend began to mean they are in a relationship. kristen and taylor are extremely tight. and i'm pretty sure robert was taking his place as a supporting role for this film. taylor and kristen were the main leads, not rob this time. so they posed together. that and they arrived on the carpet around the same time.
