I felt the same after reading that "blob" comment Angelina made about her daughter Shiloh. Most of us ordinary people can say anything we want and those around us forgive and forget it; there is no written record to haunt us. give me a break!! most women do have a preference for their first baby. She is no different than any other woman having a baby. I wanted a girl my husband wanted a boy. We had a girl. does that mean people were disappointed??? Of course not!!!! I had a sister in law who adamantly wanted only girls....guess what? she had twin boys and the another boy about 10 yrs later! When you are pregnant you fantasize about dressing up your little girl in pink frills or cheering on your son at sports. Most women will agree...as long as you have a healthy baby nothing else matters. And I am sure Salma is no exception. She just figured a boy would be easier to raise...which is usually true in most respects. I have one of each and my daughter has been the challenge!!! You guys didn't mention that she went to to say that she's happier having had a girl than a boy! Initially she wanted a boy but having had a girl and having time with her now made her grateful for having had a girl. Regardless of what the "whole story" on People magazine or whatever article it was printed/quote on, this bitch should be glad her baby (regardless of the gender) was born healthy (and rich to boot). Regardless of whether one has a male or female, no one and I mean NO ONE knows what tomorrow will bring for said child. As far as her comments as to her friends that have boys vs. girls, which is easier to raise etc., maybe, just maybe, her friends were rotten parents! Ever think of that Salma? Besides, just love your baby, do the best you can, and hope that the good lord (or whatever higher source you believe in, if at all) continues to guide you and your daughter. Because to be "expecting" and have child come to fruition (translation= being born alive and well), is a blessing in and of itself.
Take if from me, be there done that. I too, was once expecting a child 20 years ago, and of course, came the comments (from me) , "Oh, I'm going to have a baby"! Well, guess what, no, I didn't have a baby, while I carried it "full term", my baby, unfortunately was borne stillborne. Lesson learned, take nothing for granted. If anyone is expecting, the most that you can hope for (translation- don't be selfish), merely hope and pray that your baby is born (alive) and healthy. It's happiness depends on the life you (and your partner, if you have one). Quit listening to your friends/well wishers about boys being easier/harder to raise and all that bs. Since the child I lost, I have gone on to bore two more children (thanks to the lord), and I have run the gamut from good to not so good with each (teenage years - were not what I envisioned), nonetheless, we have survived it all.

A mother thankful for what the lord has blessed me with. A son and a daughter. The rest was up to me.
