I really don't think she looks that big. I have had family members who were that big at about 5 months. They were triple her size by the time they had the baby. Yes, it was only one. It didn't take them forever to loose the weight either. Within a year after the birth they were back to their pre-pregnancy sizes. So, I think every woman is different and she looks healthy everyone should just lay off her.

All body types are different. She has a short latina body type. There's no way that she's not going to gain weight in her legs, arms and face, unless she starves herself and the baby. She is not necessarily retaining water. She just gained a lot of weight in the legs. She also probably has extra muscle in the calves from carrying around her extra weight. She has short legs, so that bulges outward. Very normal. Her ankles, as you can see, are not swollen.

Body weight gain is different for every woman, as is losing it afterwards. Latinas especially gain weight in the chest, butt, arms and legs (basically all over) during their pregnancies, even if they exercise. They're not European!!! The one boon of her body type is that her waist will be slim very quickly after having the baby, while all her other parts will still be chubby. Her breasts will get even larger when she starts nursing.

Latinas also retain their weight more while nursing a baby, instead of losing it. The weight doesn't "nurse off" and it is hard to lose even with intense exercise and dieting until they actually stop nursing the baby. It is different with every culture and body type. Try to not be so critical, shallow and narrow-minded!!! It's sad to think that a woman can't go about having a baby without inviting rude comments such as those above!

Umm, pregnant women gain weight. They get fatter, and they get puffy with waterweight. Considering she was "Hollywood" thin, she is probably about a size 6 or 8 at this point. The wonder twins on the other hand, oh my goodness!

My comment was not to put her down (about being swollen) it was out of concern. I really like her. But fluid retention is a REAL concern especially while pregnant. It causes high blood pressure, kidney damage and can actually poison the system. She does not look fat, she looks swollen...from excessive fluid. Being latino has nothing to do with it...being pregnant does. And for the haters, yes, I've had two children and also work in the medical profession, I know of what I speak.
