Samantha Speaks!

A Samantha Ronson interview is just about as rare as a shot of Leonardo DiCaprio not covering his face, so when she speaks, we listen! Sam is currently in Toronto to spin for a few parties at the Toronto Film Festival, and she phoned in to The Breakfast Show on Toronto's Virgin Radio this morning and here's what she had to say:

On the fascination with her personal life:

"I don't understand it...I do interviews rarely and they're musical based, they're musically based interviews and my private life is my private life and I guess the more you don't want to talk about it the more people want to hear about it. But I'm just a DJ, I play other people's records for a living, I put them together well, I make other people happy when I spin, and that's all that should matter."

On using Lindsay for her career:

"I certainly don't use anyone for that...to be honest my brother just won three Grammy's, you know my brother's far more...has a greater influence in the music business. If I was gonna use anybody wouldn't I use him or my stepfather with the band Foreigner if that was the type of person I was? But I don't need to, and if people want to hire me to get Lindsay to go somewhere, then I make sure she doesn't come somewhere. I would never want to use anybody especially someone I care about. Why would I ever - it's disgusting - it actually makes me sick when people say that because it really like...it's really gross and if thats the type of person I was why would Lindsay be around me?"

She has a point - her brother Mark Ronson would be a better person to "use" if she wanted to advance her music career. But having hot arm candy like Lindsay certainly doesn't hurt!
