She should commit suicide in real life since her career has been over for years. She is not even relevant anymore. All the movies she has done since leaving Buffy have bombed or not done well. Non of them were blockbusters. And most of the people that I know don't even know she has done anything since Buffy ended. She is not the best actress, but in Buffy she was OK. But since then she has done one bomb after another. Her time is over and she should move on to private life. Have kids, bang her husband etc., and call it a day. No one is intersted in her anymore.

She is over just like all the other ones that became famous around her time in the late 90's, like Britney, Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore etc. Yet they all keep trying, and trying, yet it only makes them look desperate and just makes them look worse and worse as time goes on. Their star power just keeps going down and down, until they are all a joke. Such a shame, since if they had left shortly after they started to fall, the world would have thought well of them, and they would have left with a good image and history would have been kind to them. But now with all the desperation and failer, they will be remembered as jokes to the world.

But now look at them all, especially Britney, drugs, alcohol, major mental problems, kids taken away by the courts, married and divorced twice in three years, and her image now is like a cheap truck stop hooker and she looks so gross and disgusting. She will never make a "comeback" of any magnitude like she was when she first came out. The rest of them have not fallen as hard as Britney, but, they also have fallen hard and are over because of their really bad choices in their careers and most of them are not even that telented, and they all sell out to the sex and fast lifestyle of Hollywood and the music industry. Uh, how did this become a Britney post??? Anyhoo, I loved her in buffy, matter of fact I wish there was a Buffy movie. SMG has been in several scary movies since her tv series ended. She was in The Return, both of the grudge movies, some cooking movie and I can't remember what else. for the above posters that say these stars from the nineties should go away. this is what they do as a career. They are actresses, singers and performers. Yes I agree hollywood is a competive business but should they just roll over and lie down because there is new talent and should they keep fighting for the top spot. I think what that other poster that you responded to was saying, is, that they all have fallen "real" hard to one degree or another, especially Britney. And I personally think, when your time is over, you should just bow out gracefully while you still look good. And non of them look good now, Britney being the worst. In Brintey's case, she has fallen harder and worse then anyone in the business ever has practically. She is a mental wreck for life and she does have some serious mental problems that look like they are permenant. In her case, she realy should retire and raise her babies and try to get a normal life for her own mental well being. There is a diference between someone falling down then getting back up, and someone who realy is over. There really is a time when it is better to just move on. And no one has to stay in a "career" (one career) for life. There are plenty of other careers to go to, and change can really be good for the soul. Change can be realy rejuvenating. I agree with the poster above too. I think they need to move on while they still can. They are now way past the point of no return and they are just making major fools of themselvs each time they try to make a "comeback".

I think you are right about Sarah Michelle Gellar and Britney Spears. I will cover Britney first then Sarah. Britney has been a crazy tabloid queen far longer now then she ever was a pop star. She really was only at her prime for the first three years of her career (1999- 2001). Her first CD (BOMT), sold around 11.5 million in the first year from it's release. Her second CD (OIDIA), sold around 7.5 million in the first year of it's release. And her third one (Britney), sold around 3.5 million in the first year. The rest sold less and less. But for the last 4 to 5 years, she really has been a crazy person getting worse and worse each year. She has completely destroyed any image and fun times she created the first three years of her career. If she would have left a little while after releasing her third CD (Britney), the world would have remembered her fondly and in a wonderful way. But now instead she will go down in histroy as a drunk/alcoholic, child neglector that had her babies taken away by the courts, and was married and divorced twice in three years to two losers, was carted off to mental wards twice, and put in rehab, and flashed her privates over and over etc., etc., etc., and is now under a court ordered conservatorship at the age of 26, with her father running her entire life. She really has ruined everything for herself and lost most of her fans for good. It also does look like she is mental for life and there is no cure for it, only constant medication and psychiatric visits for life. Such a shame since she was so promising at the start of her career.

As for Sarah michelle Geller, She has not done anyting relevant in years. Most people don't even seem to know what she has done since Buffy ended year ago. I was a big Buffy fan, but have not had any interest in her career moves since Buffy, just like most people that loved Buffy and Sarah.

And since box office sales "are" important, she needs to really sell in order to make it as a succsesful actress. If movies don't sell, then movies can't be made. It costs money to make million dollar movies. If an actor or actress can't fill up a movie house and can't sell tickets, then they will lose out to new people that can sell on their star power. That is how the world works when you are selling something. If it sells, then it stays around, if it does not, then it goes out of business. Actors are products like any other, if they don't sell, then they are discontinued, simple as that!

I'm with the above - she has worked consistently since Buffy - but choosing stuff she enjoys and finds challenging rather then just anything. She has worked her whole life and has managed to remain without scandal. I've never been a devotee and never watched Buffy but she's a far classier lady then any of the others. Watch out for her upcoming stuff I hear she's done a couple of pretty good flicks.

If you are not a "devotee" as you put it, and you never watched Buffy, then how do you know anything about her? Sounds like you are a major fan that is just lying. Sorry, but a bunch of failed movies does not make it in the industry. Most of the movies she has made since leaving Buffy have bombed at the box office. And yes, you need to sell or you lose out. She has been having problems getting real work because the studios have lost interest in her. She has had to do independent movies since she is lossing roles because of the lack of public interest. She is not relevant any more and is on her way out. As for her not having any scandals, so what, that is now the industry works. Sounds like you are a prude or religious. Get over it. If Sarah can't show skin like the rest, then she is over. It is a new world snd sex sells, but Sarah does not, lol.

I have to agree with 11:52. Sarah is NOT a good actress. She just does the same charactor in every movie and TV show. She does not have a wide range of skill. It's kind of like watching Buffy in all her movies and anything else she does. She gets real boring real fast after seeing a movie or two. And why does she feel she does not need to take off her clothes in movies. Everyone else does. Guess she thinks she is ugly or something. Since when has being interested in independent roles meant that an actor was lacking real work? For the record, the industry is shit all around and the only good work is coming from those independent studios with directors and writers with fresh ideas. I mean, boo on Sarah for not taking the role in Saw XXI or the 50 remake of some old movie, right? She starred in a few blockbusters and decided she didn't want that for herself. Actors who do this are no longer respected simply because the majority of the population are fine giving their money to blockbusters. Independents don't make money, actors do them knowing that they don't make money. For every blockbuster an actor has been in, they've made at least five independents that have gotten stuck in distributing hell and gone nowhere. Every actor deals with that sort of thing. This year, Al Pacino starred in one of the biggest stinkers (a supposed blockbuster) the film industry has seen in the last decade. The quality isn't there anymore (especially when it comes to female actors) and that's why actors turn to more interesting fair (i.e. independents). If they want money, they do blockbusters (some of which still turn out to be stinkers). At least if an independent film doesn't do well, it dies quietly and makes its money back on DVD.
