Guess you haven't read any interviews or articles on Shia then. His Dad is a nutjob that could have easily ruined Shia's life and career. He is the one that always had addiction problems and also would just up and leave. Bad influence and I'm sure Shia wants to be at least cordial with the guy but I don't they don't get real close again.

thats not shia's dad. shia and his dad have a better relationship now, his dad has been clean for the pass couple of years. i hope they can help each other out. shia's an awesome actor!

6:11 You should know that his relationship with his Dad became really strong when Shia 'hired' his Dad to be his chaperone whilst filming Even Stevens. They lived in a motel together for much of that time and nowadays you see him out and about with his Dad a lot. His Dad lives in his garage for f*** sake! And by the way, that's not his Dad.
