Simon had plenty to say on the subject of American Idol as well as celebutante idol Paris Hilton's arrest when we saw him outside of his favorite lunch spot - The Ivy - yesterday. While most people would probably call out Melinda Doolittle as a front-runner, you may be surprised to hear who he thinks will win, especially given the contestants poor performance in recent weeks! He then got into his vintage Morgan before voicing his support for Paris Hilton (whom he describes as “a tough cookie” and points out that “there are a lot worse crimes in the world”) - although when we asked him to judge her singing, he professed not to have heard any of her album. We're a little stumped as to how “Stars Are Blind” slipped by him!

Simon might be a sourpuss on the show, but he's never been anything but totally friendly and gracious whenever we catch him out and about! Think the "mean judge" thing is all an act?
Jordin's actually my fave, but I can't believe how much she's been blowing it the last few weeks. Hope she returns to form tonight!
