It has seemed painfully obvious to us - after a few too many covers and double-page spreads on the couple - that Heidi and Spencer likely have a deal with Us Weekly.

Star Mag points to a blind item in the New York Daily News (April 20), that read:

"Which weekly glossy just signed a megamillion-dollar contract with a certain annoying celebrity couple? The deal is, the magazine will get exclusive interviews with the couple, but in turn, they need to break up (again), get back together (again) and actually get married."

These kids must be raking it in! They're obviously getting a cut of the "exclusive" photos they pose for AND they're on Wenner's payroll?!

Hey, with Britney back on track, Lindsay laying relatively low, and Paris being a good girl, the mags have gotta find their new "thing" -- but did it really have to be these two?

And if Us Weekly's paying off The Hills couple, where does that put Viacom's relationship with the mag -- that's a whole lotta free publicity!

UPDATE! - Just got off the line with a source from Us Weekly and I'm told there is DEFINITELY NO DEAL between the annoying celebrity couple and the mag. Source says "it's a mutually beneficial relationship" and that one of their Heidi covers was a top-selling issue. The Heidi-Spencer monster is outta control and America loves them AND loves to hate them!

We spotted Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag and Spencer's other main blonde - his sister Stephanie - outside of Boulevard 3 last night. Word on the street is, Spencer threw his sis a birthday bash as MTV cameras rolled.

Stephanie is definitely a great addition to The Hills, and it looks like she might even be able to give Heidi some tips in the style department. Don't get me wrong - Heidi is a total hottie with a killer body, but the leather jacket isn't really working. I could also dedicate an entire blog to how wrong those baby blue gladiator heels are, but I won't.

Page Six is reporting that during their recent trip to New York, The Hills' villainous duo Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt pitched their own "Newlyweds" type show to MTV, the network that spawned Speidi in the first place.

According to the paper, Spencer was overheard telling network programming chief Tony DiSanto, "'I want the world to see the real Heidi and Spencer,' and was emphasizing that the show would be just about them. No Lauren Conrad."

Sounds trainwreck-errific!

The Hills' star Heidi Montag debuted her clothing line for Anchor Blue on Friday night at the Hollywood and Highland center, and from the looks of this little number, we can't imagine anyone being able to get into Heidiwood without passing through Slutville.

What - you though Heidi Montag's big show at Hollywood & Highland Heidiwood would be your only chance to see her showing off her stuff? Well, guess again!

We caught up with the Hills stars at LAX yesterday as they got ready to fly the friendly skies. Spencer clearly couldn't wait to get out of his tux and into some more comfortable clothes - but Heidi clearly couldn't pass up the chance to look super-chic one more time!

As we all learned from Mean Girls, "frenemies" are enemies who act like friends and "fraitors" are friends who secretly hate you. Of course, this kind of drama doesn't just exist in movies - it's very much present in young Hollywood!

For our first example, look at Lindsay Lohan (star of MG) and her BFF Samantha Ronson. But has Sam always been a good influence on Linds? At least she's helping LiLo with her new album now... our favorite rehabber doesn't need anymore toxic people in her life!

Speaking of which, there's Brandon Davis - ya know, the one who launched the "firecrotch" tirade against the 21-year-old starlet. Heiress Paris Hilton used to be best buddies with this dude, but we're glad that's over with because Paris is better off without him!

And don't forget about the Brits! Rocker Pete Doherty has certainly influenced - at least to some degree - the hard-partying ways of ex Kate Moss and pal Amy Winehouse. Think these gals are better off on their own?

Finally, there's our beloved reality stars. With the return of The Hills, we can definitely expect to see more Lauren/Heidi/Spencer drama... but what's real and what's fake?

Guess that's the point - sometimes, you never can tell!

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt from MTV's The Hills are getting too fake - if that's even possible! Apparently they both sat down to talk to Us Weekly TOGETHER about their crumbling relationship. These two just can't get enough attention!

It seems Spencer may have a girl on the side. "I've definitely been betrayed by friends before, but I've never had a boyfriend do this to me," says Heidi. Yes you have! Haven't you even seen season two of your own show?!

Spencer adds his two cents: "I'm not too happy about a lot of things."

What about that photo op make-out, guys? Togetha 4-eva!

3. 3. free publicity on the super-popular X17online.com, not to mention in Us Weekly, which will probably make this their cover next week :)

And of course Spencer picked up a Wedding Survival Kit just to give us all something to talk about!

Jennifer Love Hewitt, fiance Ross McCall, Melissa Gilbert (Half-Pint!) and Bruce Boxleitner all donated their time on Christmas eve to the Los Angeles Mission, helping to serve Xmas dinners to the needy.

Oh, and Spencer Pratt was there (sans Heidi) to try to score a little extra publicity.

With all the baby news, you'd think they'd be announcing her pregnancy, but The Hills star Heidi Montag still managed to snag the cover of this week's Us with an exclusive interview about why she's called off her engagement to Spencer Pratt!

Although the wedding is off, the two are staying together and "back to being boyfriend and girlfriend...when our relationship was flawless." Flawless? Did they not watch season two of their own show?

The mag also promises that "it's worse than you think" and "the bride opens up about the side of Spencer MTV didn't want you to see!"

Worse than MTV portrayed Pratt? And yet Heidi's still sticking with him? Well, according to her, "I have a high tolerance for pain. I've lived with Spencer."

Best. Quote. Ever.
