It's official - Alex Rodriguez' wife has filed for divorce!
"Marital misconduct"
According to the New York Post, Rodriguez's wife Cynthia filed paperwork earlier today at Miami-Dade County Family Court alleging that their marriage "is irretrievably broken because of the husband's extra marital affairs and other marital misconduct".
She's seeking primary custody of their two children, use of their Coral Gables home, one of her Rodriguez's cars, and enough child support and alimony to maintain their "lavish lifestyle." Sure hope they had a pre-nup!
All Madonna's Fault?
As you might expect, Cynthia's taking this decision very seriously, and has already assembled a crack staff of divorce attorneys - one of whom is already pinning the blame on Madonna!
Earle Lilly - one of the attorneys retained by Cynthia - told Houston television station KTRK the star's "relationship with Madonna was the final straw for Mrs. Rodriguez."
"Emotionally Abandoned Her And The Children"
Additionally, The Miami Herald reports that Rodriguez is also being represented by attorneys Maurice Kutner and Anthony Sabatino of Miami, and John Van Ness of Houston. Kutner told the newspaper:
"She feels that she has exhausted every opportunity to salvage the marriage, and that Alex has emotionally abandoned her and the children and has left her with no choice but to divorce him."
Yikes - sounds like Cynthia's out for blood! For once in our lives, we sure wouldn't want to be A-Rod right now!
The Mitchell Report might not have accused A-Rod of cheating - but the Cynthia Report sure did!
