I'm not seeing the Hilary Swank comparison, but I don't think he is all that. Cute kid, yes. But even though he is bigger, he still looks young. However he should, he is a teenager. Though the guy is short. If he has already gone through puberity, an looking at him he has, I don't see him getting that much taller. Something about his face, just looks squished or something. But I do think this kid will bring the tweens and teens into the movie.
