Watch out, Vanessa - Zac has a new lady on his arm these days!

The 17 Again heartthrob has returned to LA after promoting his hit flick in Europe. By the way, I love Zac, but don't his lips look a little Xtina-ish here?

This isn't such a surprise to those of us who love him, but now Time Magazine has singled out Zac Efron as one of their 100 Most Influential.

Actress Claire Danes writes that Zac is "not only an actor but also a musician, a bona fide song-and-dance man." She adds, "we ladies are defenseless against such a combination."

Dane sums up Efron's appeal thusly: "He is going to make us swoon for many years to come."

Truer words were never written!!! Congrats Zac!!!

But looking at Zac Efron attending the Madrid premiere of his first non-HSM hit, 17 Again (or in this case 17 Otra Vez!), I can't help but notice that he's still just a young kid... with a baby face! Yeah, yeah, he's 21, but he's gonna have that Leo DiCaprio syndrome for a while. Does Zefron look hotter above or below, when he turns on his sexy face:

Isn't this cute!! Zac brought his mom, Starla Baskett, to Berlin with him to promote his hugely popular new film 17 Again.

But then again, a mom that buys you condoms for Christmas is probably a pretty cool traveling companion!

Zac Efron's 17 Again easily won this weekend's box office race, proving that the HSM actor can open a film for a studio other than Disney.

The floppy-haired heartthrob's comedy brought in an estimated $24.1 million in it's opening weekend, easily beating Russell Crow's political-thriller State of Play, which earned only $14.1 million.

Dreamwork's animated Monsters Vs Aliens took third place with another $12.9 million, while last week's top flick Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana: The Movie dropped to fourth with $12.6 million in ticket sales - just slightly ahead of
the $12.2 million Fast and Furious brought in for the fifth spot.

Looks like we're not the only ones who love Zac!!!

Zac's making the rounds of NYC, this time @ The Late Show to promote his new film 17 Again, and also to prove to the world that he's a serious actor, not just a Disney-fied musical theater geek only fit for movies like Footloose!

Which is exactly why he came out for his monologue on SNL doing the Footloose knee slide, right?

Dressed in slim-fitting suit with his hair did up Rockabilly-style, Zac Efron looks positively dreamy on the cover of the upcoming issue of GQ magazine. There's even more hottness inside the mag, with Zac styled in various dandy fifties-style duds.

Total Swoonsville, right???

So this totally makes sense...

Zac Efron says he doesn't want to be typecast and that's why he decided to drop out of the planned remake of Footloose.

"I'm sure Footloose would have been a huge challenge," Efron tells EW.com, "but the actors that I love and the actors that work really hard in this industry are always shaking things up, trying new genres, acquiring new skill sets. That's what's always going to appeal to me: the unknown."

As we told you last week, instead Zac has agreed to re-team with 17 Again director Burr Stears to star in The Death & Life of Charlie St. Cloud, which is a super-natural coming of age/romance story.

Did Zac make the right choice?

Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford wants to slide in behind Zac Efron and take over the lead role in the planned Footloose remake.

According to E! Online, Chace had a screen test for the updated version of the Kevin Bacon classic this weekend and an inside source said,"He did really well."

There's only one thing we love more than Zac and that's Chace. So while we have to concede that Zac's probably the one with more talent, we wouldn't at all hate having to watch Chace dance around on the big screen for a couple of hours...as long as he spends most of the movie shirtless!!!

Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Jessica Stroup (whom I'm starting to love) and Brittany Snow all went to dinner at Beso last night, ya know, because they can... but the fun stopped when someone tossed a couple Q-tips at Zac's head:

And the results are surprising! Or not so much at all.

Nickelodeon's 22nd Annual Kids' Choice Awards took place on Saturday and what won fave movie? High School Musical 3: Senior Year, of course! Don't look shocked. But please DO look a little surprised that Will Smith won fave male movie star and fave female movie star was... Vanessa Hudgens. (I know, right?)

Anyway! Little Miss Miley won favorite female singer and the Jonas Bros won fave music group, which I'm sure made Rob Pattinson happy! Speaking of Rob, Twilight managed to sneak in a win as well, for fave book. Uh, is that a new category?

Zac Efron landed at LAX last night, and the HSM hottie was mobbed by fans and photogs alike. Even through all the mayhem, Zac was sweet enough to pause and sign several autographs and flash his sig sexy face. You gotta love a celeb who's dedicated to his many admirers!

While Zac Efron is in Paris promoting 17 Again (check out how suave he looks in the video from last night!) we learned the hunky HSM star dropped out of the planned Footloose remake. And while we were disappointed at the news, we're consoled by what we're hearing about what he's doing instead.

According to Variety, the floppy-haired hunk is in talks to star in The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, with 17 Again director Burr Steers.

The novel tells the story of a cemetery caretaker who has a weekly meeting with a younger brother whose accidental death he feels responsible for.

Filming is set to start this summer. Can't wait!!!

I have NO idea why he dropped out of Footloose - I mean, they basically decided to remake it because of him - but Zac Efron makes sure to stay busy...

Check out the HSM hunk beginning his promotional tour of the upcoming 17 Again in Paris. Yeah, I know this is just another remake of Peggy Sue Got Married, but I'll prolly go see it.

If you were looking forward to seeing Zac Efron in the planned remake of the '80s classic Footloose, we've got bad news...

The floppy-haired heartthrob has pulled out of the project, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Apparently, Zac thinks another musical wouldn't be the best thing for his career right now.

The news was a big surprise to studio executives, with one saying: "People had been working on this project since last July - we were all shocked."

Kinda disappointing don't you think? I guess we'll have to satisfy our Zac-addiction with the upcoming 17 Again which hits theaters in April.
