LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Yves Saint Laurent, the iconic French fashion designer who had retired for haute couture in 2002, died today (June 1). He had been ill for some time.

Saint Laurent is considered to be one of the most influential in French fashion during the 20th century, along side Christian Dior, Coco Chanel and Paul Poiret.

Yves Henri Donat Mathieu Saint Laurent was born in Algeria August 1, 1936, and already had a portfolio of clothing designs by the time he arrived in Paris in 1953 at age 17. Vogue editor Michel de Brunoff publish the sketches and encouraged Christian Dior to hire the young protege. Saint Laurent took over the design house three years later when Dior passed away.

In 1960, Saint Laurent was called to fight in his native Algeria and, though he got a health exemption and returned three weeks later, Dior had already replace the designer. Saint Laurent struck out on his own with his partner Pierre Berge handling the business side.

The YSL logo became famous during the economic boom of the 1960s when Saint Laurent made the Rive Gauche ready-to-wear label and very successful perfumes. He was among the first designers to expand into Asia to the extent that he did, opening up such markets as South Korea and Taiwan.

Saint Laurent was most famous for "Le Smoking," the tuxedo for women, which he introduced in 1966. It was worn by Laurent Bacall, Betty Catroux, and Lou Lou el a Faliase, among others.

Saint Laurent "was the first to elevate haute couture to the rank of art and that gave him global influence,'' French President Nicolas Sarkozy said in a statement today, AFP reported. He "infused his label with his creative genius, elegant and refined personality'' and was "convinced that beauty was a necessary luxury for all men and women.''

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actor Johnny Depp took home two MTV Movie Awards last night, for Best Comedic Performance (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End) and Best Villain (Sweeney Todd). Depp and the other winners gave brief speeches, which was consistent with the noticeably shorter two hour broadcast of the ceremony.

Mike Myers hosted the show while Coldplay, The Pussycat Dolls and Adam Sandler performed, and Tom Cruise presented the MTV generation award to Sandler before he took the stage.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Though some film critics predicted that Sex And The City might have a rough battle at the box office this weekend with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Carrie and the ladies easily took the number one spot and brought in $55.7 million for the film's opening weekend.

The film, which is based on the hit HBO television series created by Darren Star, also marks the biggest R-rated comedy opening of all time.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actress Tatum O'Neal, 44, was arrested last night (June 2) on the streets of New York City's Lower East Side, when detectives caught her buying cocaine and crack from a drug dealer.

O'Neal was arrested around 7:30 pm ET Sunday on Clinton Street between East Broadway and Grant Street, according to the Manhattan South Narcotics unit whose detectives nabbed the actress.

The actress replied by saying she was researching a role, according to a New York Post source: "You know who I am, right?" Then she said, "I'm researching a part - I'm doing this for a part as a junkie. Can't we just forget about this?"

O'Neal was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and the alleged dealer, Alan Garcia, 33, for criminal sale of a controlled substance.

The daughter of actor Ryan O'Neal, Tatum was the youngest actor ever to receive an Oscar -- she won best supporting actress for her role in Paper Moon in 1974.

She struggled with drug and alcohol addiction but entered rehab an claimed to have beaten it by 1996. She claimed, in her 2004 memoir, A Paper Life, that drinking and drugging were in her blood since her mother, the late actress Joanna Moore, was an alcoholic and addicted to amphetamines as she raised Tatum and her younger brother Griffin in Los Angeles.

O'Neal was married to tennis star John McEnroe from 1986 to 1992 and the couple has three children together - Sean, Emily, and Kevin.

O'Neal recently said in an interview that she had sympathy for Britney Spears and that it wasn't until she herself moved out of LA that she started to gain control of her life and escape the pressures of Hollywood.

The actress had recently attempted to revive her career, with various television appearances including a guest appearance on Denis Leary's Rescue Me.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes held a housewarming party at their new Beverly Hills estate on Saturday night, and guests included Oprah Winfrey, Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Brooke Shields, Kyra Sedgwick, Tobey Mcguire, Jeremy Piven and Kirstie Alley.

The couple purchased the $35 million mansion last summer and have spent the past year renovating the gated, 1.3 acre property, which was originally built in 1937.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Rock and roll pioneer Bo Diddley, 79, died of heart failure today at his home in Archer, Florida.

In May of 2007, Diddley suffered a stroke while on tour in Iowa, and then in August of 2007, the musician suffered a heart attack.

Diddley was inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and also the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actor Kelsey Grammer, 53, suffered a heart attack over the weekend in Hawaii, X17online can confirm. Grammer's publicist, Stan Rosenfield told X17online:

"Kelsey Grammer has suffered a mild heart attack Saturday, and is resting comfortably
in a Hawaiian hospital. He will be released from the hospital early this week.

Grammer experienced symptoms Saturday morning after paddling boarding with his wife Camille at their Hawaiian home. Grammer was immediately taken to an area hospital where it was determined that he had a mild heart attack."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actor and architecture enthusiast Brad Pitt will team up with Zabeel Properties and the Los Angeles-based architecture firm GRAFT to help design a new five star hotel in Dubai.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actor Jack Black and his wife Tanya have welcomed their second son, Jack, into the world and Black's publicist confirmed to X17online that the baby boy was born on May 23, 2008.

The couple has been married since 2006, and have another boy, Samuel, age 1.

Black is currently promoting his new animated feature, Kung Fu Panda, which hits theaters June 6.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actress Michelle Monaghan and her husband Peter White are expecting their first child together, due later this fall. Monaghan's publicist, Jennifer Allen, confirmed the wonderful news to X17online and added, "They are thrilled."

The couple began dating after they met in a New York bar, and have been married since August of 2005.

Monaghan's latest movie, Made of Honor is currently in theaters, and her next project is the DreamWorks film Eagle Eye, co-starring Shia LaBoeuf, which hits theaters on September 26th.

O'Neal, 44, told X17online: "I think it's a tragic thing, but I brought it upon my self. I'm glad it happened the way it happened. Any kind of addiction is always a tragedy. Right now I'm on my way to take care of myself by going to an AA meeting."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The fire that destroyed thousands of videotapes and numerous sets at Universal Studios on Sunday was caused by a roofing crew and determined to be an accident.

Los Angeles County fire officials said that the fire was started by "a roofing crew in the process of roof repair using new composite materials and open flame torch" who were working on the studio's New York Alley. The crew finished their work at approximately 3am, "maintained a fire watch for one hour" and then took a break. While the crew was on break, a security guard noticed the fire and alerted Universal who then called the Fire Department. Due to the "highly combustible materials, this fire quickly spread throughout the building and other adjacent buildings on the lot." Wind was not a factor in the blaze, and fortunately, no one was hurt.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - X-Files actress Gillian Anderson is expecting her second child with boyfriend Mark Griffiths, according to People.

The couple have a son, Oscar, who was born on November 1, 2006.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - There was an accident on the Tennessee set of Hannah Montana: The Movie that caused minor injuries to a few extras and crew members yesterday. According to WKRN in Nashville, a projection screen was blown into a Ferris wheel, which children were riding during filming of a scene for the movie.

Brenda Blackford, a set extra, told the station: “When the wind caught it, all the cables were loose. It started flying. I was watching to see which corner of it was gonna hit the Ferris wheel because it was unavoidable.”

A Disney spokesperson gave the following statement to X17online:

"During a break in the filming of Hannah Montana: The Movie, a minor accident occurred involving a piece of production equipment. Fortunately, there were only a few minor injuries. Medical personnel have treated the extras and crew involved. None of the cast was on the set. Filming has resumed."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actor Ethan Hawke and his pregnant fiancee, Ryan Shawhughes, are preparing to get married, according to the New York Post.

Sources for the newspaper spotted the couple at the Municipal Building on Centre Street yesterday morning applying for their marriage license and one eyewitness said, "They looked really sweet."

Shawhughes was Hawke's former nanny while the actor was married to Uma Thurman, with whom he has two children, Maya Ray, 9, and Levon Roan, 6.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Guy Ritchie has signed on to direct Warner Bros.' upcoming film, Sherlock Holmes, which is tentatively scheduled for a 2010 release, according to Variety. Lionel Wigram and Dan Lin, who are both former Warner creative executives will be producing the film.

Not much information about the film has been released, but it is being reported that producers at Warner Bros.' are hoping to reinvent Holmes and sidekick Dr. John H. Watson.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actress Sharon Stone has apologized again for her tactless remark at the Cannes Film Festival regarding the earthquake in China.

Two weeks ago, when asked about the recent earthquake in China which killed over 68,000 people, Stone said in an interview with Hong Kong's Cable Entertainment News, "This earthquake happened, and then I thought, 'Is that karma? When you're not nice that the bad things happen to you?'"

Stone released the following statement through her publicist today:

"There has been numerous reports about what I said in Cannes. I would like to set the record straight about what I feel in my heart and end all of the misunderstandings. Yes, I misspoke. I could not be more regretful of that mistake. It was unintentional. I apologize, those words were never meant to be hurtful to anyone, they were an accident of my distraction and a product of news sensationalism. I am deeply saddened by the pain that this whole situation has caused the victims of the devastating earthquake in China."

Though this is the second time Stone, 50, has publicly apologized for her comment, Christian Dior China announced last week that the actress' advertisements for the brand will be pulled.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Brad Pitt was spotted spending nearly $350,000 at an art fair in Switzerland yesterday, the day before Angelina Jolie's 33rd birthday.

Us Weekly reports that Pitt was chauffeured in a BMW to Switzerland's Art Basel fair, where he spent over two hours shopping. He purchased two bronze chairs designed by Max Lamb, which cost $25,000 a piece, according to a fair attendee. Pitt also also bought a foam and fiberglass Family Lamp as well as a $293,000 table.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Britney Spears will be making a cameo in the Pussycat Dolls' latest video, "When I Grow Up," according to Us Weekly.

Spears shot her scenes for the Pussycat Dolls' new single on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California yesterday afternoon, while the pop group filmed their scenes in Hollywood.

An on set insider told the magazine, "It was carefully planned out. In the scene shot [Wednesday], Britney is driving in a car. They all wave at each other as they are passing in traffic - that is it. It is a very short sequence, but she had a lot of fun with it. Britney really likes the Dolls' music and when she saw them on the MTV Movie Awards, she was totally down to do the video." The insider added, "Of course, Britney looks hot and blonde."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Lindsay Lohan will begin shooting the new film Labor Pains on June 9 in Burbank, California, according to Variety. The film is a romantic comedy in which the starlet will play a publishing house assistant who pretends to be pregnant to avoid getting fired by an overbearing and wicked boss.

Producer Rick Schwartz said, "I didn't know Lindsay before this, but we looked each other in the eye three months ago, and she has done everything I could have asked." Schwartz also helped produce The Departed and The Aviator.

Lohan apparently loves the script, as she recently said, "It is a very different role for me and I look forward to the challenges it will present, and I love working on comedies."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Canadian singer Avril Lavigne has just signed a deal with Procter & Gamble to launch her own perfume, according to Women's Wear Daily.

Lavigne said she is very pleased "to be working with Procter & Gamble on releasing my first fragrance. Creating this fragrance is a fun process and I am looking forward to sharing it with everyone."

Heike Hindenlang, the global marketing director for Procter & Gamble Prestige Products, said, "Young teenage girls really aspire to Avril and love everything about her...We think we can reach out to new consumers with her scents."

Lavigne's perfume should be available by mid-2009.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Britney Spears is traveling to England next week to shoot the music video for her next single, "Radar," according to the New York Post.

Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph says, "The theme is her and her girlfriends are going to be looking all around London trying to find a boy who she met in a club. Every time they think they have him, it's someone else."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Justin Timberlake will participate in Golf Digest's U.S. Open Challenge at Torrey Pines today, according to The Guardian. Timberlake will play 18 holes at the Torrey Pines course, which is the venue for next week's US Open. He will play his round with Tony Romo, Matt Lauer and John Atkinson, a cancer sufferer who entered the magazine's competition.

When asked about the challenges of the course, Tiger Woods commented, "People don't realize how thick the rough is and how difficult it is controlling the shots. I know Matt and Tony are good players but until they experience it they have no idea."

However, Timberlake "practices every day, has a swing coach and takes his clubs everywhere he goes," according to a spokesperson. Additionally, according to the United States Golf Association, which records the handicap of every amateur in the country, Timberlake plays off three, with his last 20 scores ranging between 76 and 86, which is respectable.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - New York City Opera has commissioned composer Charles Wuorinen to write an opera based on the Academy Award-winning film Brokeback Mountain, according to Reuters.

The opera house's spokesman Gerard Mortier said in a statement on Sunday that Wuorinen had accepted an offer to compose an opera based on the film. The opera is scheduled to premiere during City Opera's 2013 spring season.

Wuorinen, 70, said in a statement, "Ever since encountering Annie Proulx's extraordinary story I have wanted to make an opera on it, and it gives me great joy that Gerard Mortier and New York City Opera have given me the opportunity to do so."

The film won three Academy Awards, and the late Australian actor Heath Ledger was nominated for Best Actor for his role in the film.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actress Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott are preparing for the arrival of their second child, as the two checked into Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles late this morning, according to Star Magazine. Spelling is scheduled to give birth via C-section early this afternoon.

An insider for the magazine says, "Dean, Liam and her mother Candy are all at the hospital supporting her," the insider adds. "Dean may actually be more nervous than Tori. He's pacing around the hospital anxiously watching the minutes go by."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Singer, actress and designer Jessica Simpson is launching a new line of intimate apparel which will be available in the spring of 2009. The Camuto Group, which holds the master license for the Simpson brand announced that it will be expanding it's franchise with the singer, according to Women's Wear Daily.

Kristin Kohler, senior vice president of licensing at Camuto said that Simpson's five year old franchise is projected to generate wholesale revenues of $300 million in 2008. Simpson has designed shoes, handbags, clothing and cosmetics with the company.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - 90210 Actress Tori Spelling gave birth, to a baby girl -- Stella Doreen McDermott -- today. It is her first daughter with husband Dean McDermott but the couple's second child after their son Liam, who is a year old.

Stella Doreen weighed in at 6 lbs. 8 oz, and was delivered just after 3 pm PT. She was the second baby of a famous actress to be born at the hospital this week -- Jessica Alba gave birth to her first child, a girl named Honor Marie Warren, on Saturday (June 7).

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed to X17online that rapper Coolio (nee Artis Leon Ivey, Jr.) was pulled over in his light blue 1996 Hummer around 1am Tuesday morning following a minor traffic violation. When the police checked his license plates, they discovered an outstanding warrant for a suspended license charge from San Bernadino County from eight years ago.

Police took Coolio into custody, and the rapper posted $10,000 bail was released at 6:40am on Tuesday.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - MTV has made a six episode commitment to Bromance, a non scripted series which will feature The Hills star Brody Jenner on a quest to find a new member of his entourage.

Jenner will have the contestants compete in group and individual activities such as skydiving in Las Vegas to prove their trust and reliability. The winner will take home a prize package, move out to Hollywood and secure a spot as the newest member of Jenner’s group of friends.

LOS ANGELES, California - Steven Spielberg is looking to raise more than $1 billion to make DreamWorks an independent company that once again owns the films it makes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Spielberg reportedly wants to leave Paramount for Universal, but at the advice of his advisers, he has allowed the studios to bid for the rights to distribute future DreamWorks projects. Those looking to get involved include Paramount, Universal, Disney and Fox. Though many industry insiders believe Spielberg will remain at Paramount, Spielberg's contract with the studio runs until 2010, but he can terminate it early at year's end, perhaps for the right price.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Though The Hollywood Reporter said earlier this morning that producers of the CW's hit show, Gossip Girl, are planning a spinoff series, it looks like that might have been a premature announcement.

THR reported that producers are either planning to give Jenny Humphrey (played by 14-year-old actress Taylor Momsen) her own series, or introduce a new character who will be given their own spinoff. However, Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz told E! Online:

"Not sure how this got out there, but no plans for spinoff at this moment. The books do have a spinoff, but we have nothing in the works right now other than making sure season two gets off to a great start."

Additionally, a source at the CW also told E! Online, "If the second season does as well as we expect it to, then we'll probably try to make it happen."

Due to her financial and social status, Humphrey is a outsider who struggles to fit in with her circle of Upper East Side peers. In the Gossip Girl books, Humphrey embarrasses herself by doing a risque shoot for a teen magazine, among other mortifying incidents. After realizing that she can't save her reputation, she switches to a different private school and goes on to become the popular girl at her new campus. Humphrey's story is told in six spinoff novels titled The It Girl.

Alloy Entertainment owns both of the book series and co-produces the television show. They also have a first-look deal with the series co-producer Warner Bros. Television. Therefore, the CW has right of first refusal on a spinoff series, and if it is refused, Alloy Entertainment could potentially shop the spinoff project to various cable networks with a young female demographic such as ABC Family and MTV.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Oprah Winfrey topped the Forbes' Celebrity 100 list of the world's most powerful celebrities followed by Tiger Woods, Angelina Jolie, and a slew of young celebrities, the financial magazine announced yesterday (June 11).

Winfrey kept the top spot on the list, a power ranking based on earnings and fame. Winfrey earned $275 million, year-to-date, despite lower television ratings and magazine circulation.

Tiger Woods stayed at No. 2; he made $115 million in the last twelve months. Angelina Jolie, in the third position, made far less, at $14 million, but her star factor was high enough to propel her to No. 3. Jolie's partner Brad Pitt came in at No. 10.

Forbes generates the list with estimated earnings, metrics like Google hits, the number of mentions in the media, and the celebrities' number of magazine covers.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Madonna and Britney Spears are about to be the newest subjects of sordid tell-all books, according to the New York Post.

Madonna's brother, Christopher Ciccone, has signed on with Simon Spotlight Entertainment, a division of Simon & Schuster, to write a book revealing the intimate and private details of his sister's life. The pop superstar and her brother reportedly had a falling out shortly after Madonna married director Guy Richie. A source told the newspaper, "It's extremely graphic and devastating. He wrote it on the sly without telling Madonna. They want to put it out before her lawyers can get a hold of it." The book is scheduled for release next month.

Britney Spears is also the subject of a expose by investigative reporter Ian Halperin, who is aiming to shop around Stalking Britney: Under Siege with Britney Spears to publishers next week. The book reveals "details of at least two suicide attempts by the troubled star," as well as allegations of substance abuse by a drug dealer.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actress Marcia Cross was involved in a car accident on Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles, according to Access Hollywood.

Cross was driving her silver Lexus RX near Wilshire and Berry in West Los Angeles around 2pm when she collided with another driver, who sustained significant damage to the front of their vehicle. Cross' car sustained damage as well, but not nearly as severe as the other vehicle. Cross' newborn twins were not with her at the time of the accident, and no injuries were reported.

Both cars were removed from the scene by a tow truck, and according to the Los Angeles Police Department, no police report was filed.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson and Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier are set to create a new line of apparel together and launch a store at the Treasure Island Hotel in Las Vegas on July 4th.

Inside sources reveal exclusively to X17online that this will be a $14 million venture, and the clothing was inspired by the glitzy, glamorous Las Vegas shows. Kelly was charged with 14 counts of videotaping himself having sex with an underage girl; however, Kelly's attorneys argued the man on the tape didn't have a large mole on his back, as Kelly does.

Kelly wiped his face with a handkerchief and hugged his lawyers after the verdict was read. The singer could have faced up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Troubled singer Amy Winehouse, 24, has been admitted to the hospital after fainting, according to Us Weekly.

Winehouse's rep tells the magazine, "Amy was at home this afternoon when she briefly fainted. Fortunately, her manager's assistant was there to stop her falling. She quickly recovered and her father Mitch took her to hospital as a precaution. Doctors are unsure of the cause of the incident and Amy is currently undergoing tests." Winehouse "may be kept in [the hospital] overnight for observation," the rep added.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Britney Spears is due back in court tomorrow for a probate hearing that will determine whether or not she is fit to participate in the July 31 hearing regarding her conservatorship case.

Additionally, there will be a criminal hearing held on Wednesday, June 18 in Van Nuys regarding Spears driving without a license, according to attorney J. Michael Flanagan, who will be representing Spears. Last August, when Spears was involved in a hit and run (charges were later dismissed), it was first determined that she was not driving with a valid California driver's license.

In other Spears legal news, there won't be a hearing for the incident that occurred last November in which Spears ran over the foot of a photographer, as the Los Angeles Police Department released documents that show there is "no evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the suspect [Spears] was aware that the victim's foot had been struck by the car."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Jamie Spears filed a declaration on June 6 stating that beginning on February 1, (when he was put in charge of his daughter Britney's affairs and finances) he was with her "on a near-twenty-four-hour basis to ensure her safety and well-being."

This declaration was a follow up on his petition to collect "replacement compensation" for the month of February for being the co-conservator of his daughter's estate. In his original petition, Spears' lawyer stated that Spears had "been forced to forego other employment in order to devote his full time and attention to Britney and her affairs," and that he had "lost his regular source of income from which to pay his living expenses."

In the most recent declaration, Spears states, "After Britney was released from the hospital, I brought Britney home and secured her living and care situation. Throughout the time period, I ran errands, including buying groceries and cooking supper on a daily basis. I talked frequently with Britney about her health status...I arranged for Britney’s transport and security to go shopping and so that she could teach a dance class."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - This morning Billy Ray Cyrus appeared on The Today Show and spoke with Meredith Vieira about about his role as the host of Nashville Star, Hannah Montana: The Movie, and his 15-year-old daughter, Miley.

Cyrus said the teenage superstar "loves what she does for a living," and then he went on to discuss the Vanity Fair photo scandal with Vieira. Vieira asked Cyrus what his reaction was after seeing the "seemingly looking topless" picture of his daughter, to which Cyrus responded, "I was surprised when I saw it, but again, stuff happens, thats life, things happen, sometimes things get a little out of control." Cyrus added that he "wasn't there when that picture was taken," and that he had no idea that "they were going to strip her down and wrap her with a blanket." However, it appears as though the Cyrus family has moved on from the incident, as Cyrus said "well this happened, we gotta deal with it."

Numerous reports have circulated in recent weeks that Spears, 26, is looking to relocate to Calabasas, California.

Jamie Spears and attorney Andrew Wallet are the co-conservators of Spears' estate, and the next hearing regarding Spears' conservatorship will take place on July 31, but it will be a pretrial evidentiary hearing instead of a hearing deciding whether or not Spears' conservatorship will be extended.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Yesterday, a Los Angeles County Superior Court commissioner granted Britney Spears' conservators permission to sell her Summit home, and an inside source has revealed exclusively to X17online that Spears will be building a home in Calabasas and renting one until construction is finished.

Spears will be renting a mansion in the The Oaks of Calababas, which is a gated community with homes in the $10 million price range. Spears will simultaneously be building a new home in the same neighborhood, and though construction has not yet begun, a contractor has been hired.

Though reports are circulating that Spears, 26, is trying to move into another Calabasas property called Chateau Suenos, X17 spoke directly with Jeff Biebuyck, the real estate agent with the listing, and he informed us that no one has been shown the property.

Mr. Biebuyck, of Ewing & Associates, released the following statement to X17online:

"I am the only person with the key [to the Chateau Suenos property] and I have never met Britney Spears and have never shown her this or any house. The house isn't even on the market right now."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Lindsay Lohan has pulled her name from the Emmy ballot, according to The Los Angeles Times. It is being reported that Lohan, 21, wants to wait until next year to be considered for her guest spot on ABC's Ugly Betty. Lohan is slated to reprise her role in five episodes of the award winning series this fall.

A representative for Lohan told the newspaper, “The appearance was brief...we made a decision to wait.”

New York, NY (X17online) - Jennifer Lopez performed for a class of eight 10- and 11-year old autistic students at a Staten Island elementary school yesterday (June 17) after the children had written letters to the singer/actress, requesting photos and autographs, the AP reports.

Teacher Kathy Amati showed her students Lopez's music video for the single Let's Get Loud and the children loved it -- they began requesting it every day.

The students in this P.S. 27 class went on to memorize the song's lyrics and practice Lopez's dance moves from the video and became so enamored with the star they wrote letters to her requesting pictures or her autograph and they got more than they asked for -- Lopez performed Let's Get Loud at their graduation ceremony.

It is being reported that Spears, 26, will be spending time with her younger sister Jamie Lynn, 17, who is due to give birth in several weeks. Jamie Lynn Spears' new Liberty, Mississippi residence is approximately thirty minutes from the Spears' family estate in Kentwood, Louisiana.

Jamie Lynn Spears, 17, gave birth to a baby girl named Maddie Briann at 9:33am this morning, according to OK! Magazine.

According to X17 photographers, Spears checked in at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi shortly after 2am this morning, while her mother Lynne Spears arrived at the hospital around 6:45am, followed by sister Britney and brother Bryan, who showed up around 7:15am in a SUV with heavily tinted windows.

Calls to Spears' publicist were not immediately returned.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Denise de Bellefeuille dismissed two of the twelve claims made by Rob Lowe's former nanny, Jessica Gibson at a hearing today, according to People.

Lowe's attorney Larry Stein stated, "We're very pleased with today's outcome. The Lowes have consistently denied any wrongdoing and will be vindicated. The entire family is holding up the best they can."

However, Gibson's sexual harassment allegations remain intact, and the two claims that were dismissed pertained only to labor-code violations.

Gibson's lawyer, John West, said, "We don't consider this a setback at all, Jessica's case is still intact as a whole."

In the lawsuit which was filed in April, Gibson, 24, claimed that Lowe, 44, groped her and exposed himself to her during her seven-year stint as a nanny for the family.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Matthew Perry is set to get his own scripted series with Showtime called The End of Steve, according to Variety. Perry serve as co-creator and co-executive producer alongside producer Peter Tolan and will also star in the show as a talkshow host seeking professional and personal happiness.

Sony Pictures TV has already secured a pilot order with significant penalty attached, and Sony TV co-president Zack Van Amburg said, "Matthew had a kernel of an idea that he had been fleshing out, and he got together with Peter. Peter worked closely and collaborated with Matthew, and they rounded up a full show."

Production of the pilot and prospective series would be scheduled around another one of Tolan's Sony projects, FX's Rescue Me, where he remains executive producer.

We never see anything but positives out of her. Everyone has personal stuff, but a true professional doesn't bring it into the studio."

In April, Spears' former manager Larry Rudolph told the magazine that Spears had gone into the studio "just for fun," and that "she is on the right path."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Naomi Campbell plead guilty today to assaulting two police officers during an altercation at London's Heathrow Airport on April 3. The model could face up to six months in jail as well as costly fines if the harshest sentence is applied at Uxbridge Magistrates Court, according to The Associated Press.

Prosecutor Melanie Parrish went into great detail today about the incident which resulted in Campbell's arrest and six assault charges. Parrish told the court that Campbell, 38, was sitting in first class on a British Airways flight from London's Heathrow Airport to Los Angeles when she was informed that one of her bags had not been loaded onto the plane. Airline personnel (including the captain) attempted to explain the situation to the model, but she verbally harassed them and then proceeded to ignore them while making a phone call demanding another flight. After her outburst, she attacked the police who handcuffed her and removed her from the plane, according to Parrish.

Campbell was charged with six different offenses, including attacking police officers, using abusive language to the cabin crew and disorderly conduct. Campbell's spokesperson, Alan Edwards, said that she regretted the incident and looked forward to telling her side of the story. Campbell has not yet been sentenced.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Janet Jackson is getting her own reality television show on MTV, according to Variety.

The untitled project will feature Jackson mentoring a group of aspiring young singers and dancers. The show will be shot in the next few months as Jackson prepares for her world tour, and the casting process has already begun.

Executive producer Dave Broome said, "It's really about finding who's the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher. And we'll find it from a pool of people who you wouldn't typically find it from. We'll go to YMCAs, church groups, local community centers and try to cast the show."

The series will also take place in various street locales, rather than on a studio soundstage. Producers are still working out the details out the prize for the elimination style show, but it is being reported that it could relate to Jackson's tour, which launches on September 10.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Get Smart took the number one spot at the box office this weekend, earning $39.2 million. The film is based off of the television show of the same name, and stars Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell. The film's debut also marks the second-largest live-action comedy opener of 2008.

Kung Fu Panda held on to the number two spot with $21.7 million, while The Incredible Hulk brought in $21.6 million. The Love Guru, starring Mike Myers, Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake took the number four spot and a disappointing $14 million.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Comedian George Carlin, 71, died of heart failure on Sunday evening after checking himself into Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica complaining of chest pains, according to the Associated Press.

It was announced last Tuesday that Carlin was being awarded the 11th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. During his lengthy career, Carlin produced 23 comedy albums, 14 HBO specials, three books, several television shows and appeared in several films. Additionally, Carlin hosted the first broadcast of Saturday Night Live.

Carlin's daughter Kelly released the following statement today in response to her father's passing:

"He taught me the value of speaking the truth in a world that doesn't always want to hear it and gave me the gift of laughter. He was loved and revered by so many and will be missed beyond words -- but never forgotten.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The MTV Video Music Awards are returning to Los Angeles for the first time in a decade, and the ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 7, at the Paramount Pictures lot in Hollywood. The ceremony will be broadcast from city streets, rooftops, and sound stages on the legendary Hollywood studio lot.

In a statement released today, Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music Group, said:

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Los Angeles County Sheriff Department is currently investigating two incidents that occurred in Malibu over the weekend that resulted in several paparazzi photographers being assaulted by beachgoers. The photographers were taking pictures of actor Matthew McConaughey surfing at Malibu's Point Dume and Paradise Cove beaches when they were harassed and attacked by a large group of surfers, sustaining minor injuries and thousands of dollars in damage to their camera equipment.

Though Sergeant Kinest of the Lost Hills Sheriff's department initially told X17online that the incident would be investigated, he added that there were "no injuries," and that it was "an isolated incident," giving the impression that the incident might not have been a serious threat. However, Malibu Mayor Pamela Conley Ulich has expressed concern for the safety of the public, and the police are taking the matter very seriously.

In recent months, the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department has received an increasing amount of complaints against the paparazzi including traffic violations, blocking sidewalks and driveways outside of businesses and homes, activities around local schools and other acts that pose a potential threat to public safety.

According to the office of Mayor Ulich, in May the City Council of Malibu consented to have Mayor Pamela Conley Ulich work with Pepperdine Dean Kenneth Starr and other constitutional law experts on a pro bono basis to carefully consider whether additional regulations are warranted to protect peace and public safety. However, any new ordinance must be in harmony with the first amendment free speech rights as well as the right for individuals to take photographs in public spaces.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline returned to family court today, appearing before commissioner Scott Gordon regarding their custody agreement.

Spears is back in family court in an attempt to get more visitation with her two young sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. Spears is being represented by family law attorney Laura Wasser, who previously represented the singer last year, but quit in September of 2007. Federline arrived with his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan and wore a grey suit.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Heather Locklear is seeking treatment for psychological issues at an Arizona facility, according to People.

Her publicist, Cece Yorke told the magazine, "Heather has been dealing with anxiety and depression. She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment. This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Anne Hathaway's ex boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri has been arrested in Manhattan on charges of wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering, according to E! Online. Follieri is scheduled to appear in Manhattan Federal court later today to face the charges.

Follieri also claimed that he was a chief financial officer for the Vatican, and according to prosecutors, fraudulent businessman lied about his involvement in order to purchase domestic properties owned by the Catholic church at a discounted price.

Last week, a default judgment was filed against Follieri after he failed to pay American Express Bank nearly half a million dollars, and several weeks ago Follieri was investigated by the New York State Attorney General after failing to file the requisite IRS tax disclosure forms for his charity, the Follieri Foundation. Additionally, Follieri was arrested on April 3 for writing a bad check, a charge which was later dropped.

Hathaway broke off her relationship with Follieri just one week ago, and though this may have been a tough week for the actress, her movie, Get Smart did take the number one spot at the box office this past weekend.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The Los Angeles Superior Court has confirmed that there has been a change in the custody agreement between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, and sources tell E! Online that Spears has been given overnight visits with her two young sons.

Upon leaving the courtroom, Spears said she was "pleased" with the outcome and both her and Federline appeared to be in good spirits. Additionally, Laura Wasser has officially replaced Stacy Phillips as Spears' attorney. Wasser previously served as Spears' lawyer, but quit in September of 2007.

Court spokesperson Allan Parachini told the media that though Spears did not testify, "there was an exchange or two between her and Commissioner Gordon," and she was "very business-like." Parachini added that "both sides have been very cooperative."

The scheduled trial date in August remains unchanged.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Anne Hathaway's ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri, 29, appeared in a Manhattan federal court yesterday to face twelve counts of wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering, and Judge Henry B. Pitman set his bail at $21 million, according to Us Weekly.

Of the $21 million, $16 million must be paid in cash or by liquid assets or property, and $5 million must come from financially responsible co-signers. Follieri was also forced to hand over all travel documents and placed on house arrest.

At court, Follieri appeared angry, interrupted his attorney and when a prosecutor accused him of owing various debts, he yelled, "We paid that!" according to the Associated Press. After his court appearance, Follieri suffered “some sort of attack,” according to his lawyer, and was taken to a hospital.

Prosecutor Reed Michael Brodsky stated, "In short, your honor, he is a con man, and he was able to defraud a lot of people out of a lot of money over a long period of time." The prosecutor also claimed Follieri tested positive for opiates during a routine drug test shortly after his arrest Tuesday morning. Follieri could face life in prison if convicted of all twelve counts.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Kanye West, Alicia Keys and Halle Berry were the big winners at the Black Entertainment Television Awards in Los Angeles Tuesday night.

West took home two awards for both best male hip hop artist and best collaboration for his single "Good Life," while Missy Elliott won best female hip hop artist. Chris Brown took home the best male R&B artist award and Grammy winner Alicia Keys snagged the best female R&B artist award.

West brought rapper Lil Wayne onstage when he accepted his award for best male hip hop artist, and praised his fellow nominee for being his biggest competition. Lil Wayne did the same for West when he accepted the viewers' choice award for "Lollipop."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have donated $1 million for educational aid to children affected by the Iraq war, according to Reuters.

The Jolie-Pitt Foundation has given $500,000 to three groups in Iraq which will provide aid including basic necessities, supplies and books for about 5,700 children, and aid will also go to refugee kids and school rehabilitation programs.

The foundation also gave $500,000 to help children in the United States who have lost a parent in the war, or who are separated from a parent stationed in Iraq, said the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, on which Jolie serves as a co-chair.

Jolie is a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and Pitt has helped raise awareness for Darfur and was involved in a program to help build homes for survivors of Hurricane Katrina. The couple has donated millions of dollars to charity over the past few years.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Malibu Mayor Pamela Conley Ulich will hold a press conference tonight at 6pm to address media requests for information regarding the City's activities related to public safety and the paparazzi.

This comes on the heels of two incidents this past weekend between the paparazzi and a group of surfers, in which the photographers were approached, verbally threatened and then attacked.

At least two photographers sustained minor injuries and various photographic equipment was damaged and destroyed. X17 photographers alone lost more than $15,000 in equipment.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Sarah Jessica Parker is in talks with Warner Bros. to get her own television show called The Ivy Chronicles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Ivy Chronicles follows the story Ivy Ames, a single mother in modern New York. Ames is an Upper East Side woman who gets divorced, loses her high-powered job is forced to start over. After taking her children out of private school, Ames launches a business to help upper-middle-class women get their children into elite kindergartens.

This would mark the Sex And The City star's return to the small screen, and Jerry Weintraub is set to produce the series, which is based on Karen Quinn's novel.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Though it's been rumored for weeks that Madonna is in talks with a divorce attorney, The UK Times confirms that the singer has hired Fiona Shackleton, the lawyer who helped Paul McCartney retain all but $50 million of his $1.6 billion fortune.

Madonna, 49, is estimated to be worth $600 million and is reportedly seeking legal advice from Shackleton on a possible divorce from her husband of seven years, film director Guy Ritchie, 39.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Actress Uma Thurman is engaged to her boyfriend, businessman Arpad Busson, her rep confirmed to the NY Daily News.

A friend of Thurman's family said, "It's a done deal. They're already planning the wedding." The couple met last year at a dinner in Milan.

Busson heads the EIM investment company, which manages assets of over $13 billion, according to the company. The financier has also raised millions for children at risk through his Absolute Return for Kids charity.

Thurman was previously married to Ethan Hawke, with whom she has two children, and prior to that, the actress was married to Gary Oldman. Busson previously dated Farah Fawcett, and supermodel Elle Macpherson, with whom he has two children.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Paris Hilton has made an “extremely generous” donation toward the construction of a medical building at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, hospital officials said on Thursday.

In a statement, Hilton said, “The children I have met through my involvement with Childrens Hospital have truly touched my heart. I am proud to make a donation and lend my name to the fundraising effort to help children who are facing terribly serious illnesses.”

Hilton has been donating her time and money to CHLA for over a year now, and the Childrens Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases is expected to open in 2010.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Russell Simmons daughters Ming Lee, 8, and Aoki, 5, are set to receive $20,000 a month each in the new child support agreement between the hip hop mogul and his estranged wife Kimora Lee Simmons.

Kimora Lee Simmons, who is the CEO of the Baby Phat fashion line, filed for divorce in March after nine years of marriage to Simmons, one of the founders of Def Jam Records. Kimora Lee is asking for primary custody of the couple's daughters and that Russell be given "reasonable child visitation...accompanied at all times by the children's nanny and security personnel."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Kevin Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, revealed to E! News after a mediation session on Thursday that both Federline and Spears are looking to work out a custody agreement prior to their upcoming trial in August.

Kaplan stated:

"Kevin is seeking to maintain the sole legal and physical custody that he presently has. There's nothing magical about 50-50. There's nothing magical about 60-40. What's magical is that whatever order is in place, it's the order that best suits the best interest of the children. Kevin has had sole legal custody since January. He wants that to become a permanent order at trial, and the visitation to be consistent with what the court expanded it to this week."

Spears currently has two supervised day visits with her sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, and last week, one supervised overnight visit per week was added to her visitation rights. Kaplan added that Federline is more than happy to give ex-wife Spears not only more custody rights, but the ability to be "involved in their lives in a very substantial and meaningful way," and credits the conservatorship with her progress.

"When the conservatorship was imposed, it brought a certain sense of structure and stability to an environment that seemed to be continually in flux. And in flux is not a description of what you want for a child's environment."

Regarding the overall mood of the mediation meeting, Kaplan stated:

"The mediation didn't result in an agreement that would avoid the trial set in August...The mood was comfortable, positive and it was a mood that was consistent with opening at least a great dialogue, which is necessary."

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Pixar's animated feature WALL-E earned $62.5 million and the number one spot at the box office this weekend, which marks the studio's ninth number one opener.

Wanted, starring Angelina Jolie came in second place with $51.1 million, which was higher than most critics had predicted. Get Smart continued it's impressive run, snagging the third place spot and earning an additional $20 million, making it's domestic gross $77.3 million.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Will Smith's new school, New Village Academy, has sparked controversy lately, due to the fact that several teachers are members of the Church of Scientology, and teaching methods developed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard will be used at the private school in Calabasas.

According to the Los Angeles Times, both Smiths have denied that they are Scientologists, and Smith even made a statement about his intentions, saying:

"About 10 years ago, Jada and I started dreaming about the possibility of creating an ideal educational environment, where children could feel happy, positive and excited about learning. New Village Academy was born of a simple question, 'Is it possible to create an educational environment in which children have fun learning?' Jada and I believe the answer is 'Yes.' "

The head of the school, Jacqueline Olivier, confirmed that some staff members are Scientologists, as well as Christian and Jewish, and that the school has no religious affiliation.

Olivier added,

"We are a secular school and just like all nonreligious independent schools, faculty and staff do not promote their own religions at school or pass on the beliefs of their particular faith to children."

One teaching method the school will employ is study technology, which was developed by Hubbard and focuses on students getting hands-on experience, and mastering subject matter before moving to the next level. Olivier explained, "People tend to think study technology is a subject, but it is really just the way the subject is taught. They then come to the conclusion that we are teaching Scientology when actually a methodology doesn't have anything to do with content." She added that the school will use many other philosophies, including Montessori, Bruner and Gardner.

However, critics claim that the school is not being honest about its ties to Scientology. David S. Touretzky, a professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon University argues that it is Scientology disguised as education. Touretzky states:

"There is no reputable educator anywhere who endorses [study technology]. What happens is that children are inculcated with Scientology jargon and are led to regard L.R. Hubbard as an authority figure. They are laying the groundwork for later bringing people into Scientology."

Ron Reynolds, executive director of the California Assocation of Private School Organizations, remained somewhat neutral, but certainly has his doubts, as he said:
