Surfers Plead Not Guilty in Paparazzi Attack

Matthew McConaughey McConaugheySurf200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Two surfers accused of attacking a photographer trying to snap a picture of Matthew McConaughey have pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor battery charges, according to the Malibu District Attorney's office.

Skylar Peak and Philip Hildebrand are accused of pushing photographer Richid Altmbareckouhammou and hurling his camera into the ocean in June as he tried take pictures of a surfing Matthew McConaughey.

Video taken that day shows a large crowd of beach-goers taunting and swearing at photographers who had gathered to capture images of the actor. Only Peak and Hildebrand have been charged in the attack.

A pre-trial hearing is set for January 14th.
