'Taken' Steals Weekend Box Office

Movies Taken200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - "Taken" a thriller staring Liam Neeson as a former spy trying to rescue his daughter, took the top spot at the weekend box office.

The brought in $24.6 million in its first weekend of release.

After two weeks in the top spot, "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" slipped to second place earning another $14 million.

"The Uninvited," a remake of the 2003 South Korean thriller that pits two sisters against their potentially evil stepmother. It earned $10.5 million for third place.

In fourth was "Hotel for Dogs" with $8.7 million, followed by "Gran Torino" with $8.6 million.
