OKMagCover200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - X17online has learned that OK Magazine paid $500,000 for the last known pic of Jackson, a harrowing photo from inside the ambulance that they're featuring prominently on the cover.

Some critics say using the photo, which shows Jackson's lifeless body with a tube in his mouth, is insensitive. However officials with the magazine's parent company told the UK's Guardian using the photos were justified because they constituted a major celebrity news story.

Jackson's death has sparked a huge surge in entertainment news magazine sales with readers eager for the latest information on what is one of the biggest stories of all time.

While magazine's have faced difficult economic times recently, the large price paid for the photo shows readers desire for celebrity news is strong. Add to that the ongoing questions surrounding Jackson's death makes a story that has the potential to make headlines for weeks to come.
