LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Just six weeks after giving birth to Sparrow James Midnight Madden, proud parents Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are showing him off in the latest issue of People magazine.

Nicole tells the mag, "I couldn't be happier. The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are. I'm right where I belong." And Nicole isn't the only one going gaga over her newborn son! She says, "[Harlow] just loves him so much," and Joel added, "She's very gentle with him."

While the happy family didn't talk about marriage with that publication, Star magazine reports that Joel and Nicole exchanged vows during an "intimate at-home ceremony on October 14 with Joel's brother and bandmate Benji as a witness"! The mag reports that Nicole and Joel were married with 45,000 other people worldwide as part of a mass wedding by the Unification Church.

"Joel had been begging Nicole to get married since before Harlow was born. She wasn't in a rush to make it official," a source tells Star. "She didn't want to spend another day not being Mrs. Joel Madden. Nicole is a free spirit, and she wanted a wedding ceremony that reflected that. She found out about the mass wedding online and thought it would be perfect for the two of them."
