Quentin Tarantino Heads Jury At Venice Film Festival

quentin200.jpgROME, Italy (X17online) - Quentin Tarantino will take part in this year's Venice Film Festival as head of the jury that will award the coveted Golden Lion. The Kill Bill director has been described as "one of the most startling directors in cinema today."

Tarantino has not had one of his movies screen at the festival, however he's known for the Italian Kings of the B's retro from 2004 and the Spaghetti Westerns retro from 2007.

Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto will star in Julian Schnabel's Miral about a refugee camp teacher in postwar Jerusalem. Also launching at the festival, Sofia Coppola's Somewhere.

The 67th annual Venice Film Festival will run from Sept. 1 - 11.
