Eight Mile Style, Eminem's music publisher, filed the papers in Detroit last week against Apple ... claiming that the company didn't receive proper permission to make the rapper's songs available for download.

According to records, the settlement from October 2009 totaled more than $2.2 million, however Eminem's camp says they have yet to see a dime from Apple. The suit also states the company Aftermath collected $4 million due to the downloading of Eminem's songs.

Apple, Aftermath and Eminem's reps have declined to comment.
