Harry Potter Rakes In $24 Million With Midnight Screenings

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 has now placed third in the history books for midnight releases with over $24 million.

The movie brought in more money than the last Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which made $22.2 million during the midnight screenings opening day.

Experts predict that Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will bring in more than $100 million this weekend. The final film, Deathly Hallows: Part 2, will hit theaters next July.

To date, the Harry Potter franchise has made $5.5 billion worldwide.
