The Social Network Wins Five Toronto Film Critics Awards

TORONTO, Canada (X17online) - The Toronto Film Critics Assn. has just named The Social Network best picture of 2010.

David Fincher took home the award for for best director, and Jesse Eisenberg won best actor for his turn as Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg. Aaron Sorkin's adaptation of Ben Mezrich's book The Accidental Billionaires grabbed the best screenplay award.

Also amongst the winners, break-out star Armie Hammer, who captured audiences playing both of the Winklevoss twins, was named best supporting actor. Hammer has recently been rumored to star in the biopic film Hoover, as Leonardo DiCaprio's (Hoover's) lover.

TFCA president Brian Johnson, film critic for Maclean's magazine, said of The Social Network: "We appreciate what it represents in popular American film culture -- an intelligent moral drama told from multiple viewpoints with a complex protagonist who is neither hero nor villain."
