A Relativity executive released the following statement:

“You add these stars to a film that has a very unique take on the traditional thriller genre, and Limitless became a movie for everyone.”

Also scoring big this weekend: The Lincoln Lawyer starring Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Phillippe scoring $13.4 million and the sci-fi comedy Paul raking in $13.2 million.

According to analysts, 60% of the audiences for Limitless were over the age of 25. In comparison, 85% of Lincoln Lawyer's audience was over 25.

Just last Friday, Cooper and Renee Zellweger announced their split, which many believe, helped with the movie's release.
