Bridesmaids200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Bridesmaids, the girl power movie that could, has become director/producer Judd Apatow's highest grossing film.

The movie overtook 2007's Knocked Up, not adjusted for inflation or higher ticket prices. Cume for Bridesmaids is more than $148.769M and counting.

The R-rated, female-centric comedy debuted at $26.2 million, surprising analysts, but proving that a comedy with a heavily female cast could appeal to both men and women.

Apatow is also behind Get Him to the Greek, Pineapple Express, Step Brothers, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Superbad, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, The 40 Year Old Virgin and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
