Justin Timberlake To Launch New Ad Campaign With Callaway Golf

jtimberlake071811_01_200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Justin Timberlake has helped organize a new advertising campaign for golf equipment maker Callaway, and the singer/actor is attempting to target a younger demographic with the commercials.

The ad campaign will launch this weekend during the Farmers Insurance Open tournament outside San Diego, and golf pros Phil Mickelson, Annika Sorenstam and Alvaro Quiros will be featured in the spots. The pros will use Callaway products to perform stunts along the Las Vegas Strip; Quiros will be shown hitting a golf ball 310 yards over the Bellagio fountain, while others are shown hitting balls from rooftop to rooftop.

"We wanted to make a statement that was more rock 'n' roll," Timberlake told the Wall Street Journal. Jeff Colton, Callaway's senior VP of global brand and product added, "Being hip and contemporary has to be part of the marketing plan" to attract new and younger golfers."

The company named Timberlake their creative director in December, and he has served as a paid endorser for Callaway for several years. Sadly, Timberlake will not star in the commercials.
