gamechange_200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The premiere of the Sarah Palin telefilm Game Change is the most-watched original movie for HBO in nearly eight years.

The film brought in 2.1 million viewers last weekend, and overall has pulled in a gross audience of 3.6 million over the past four weekends. The last film to come close was Something the Lord Made, which grabbed 2.4 million viewers in May 2004.

The former Alaskan governor and GOP vice presidential candidate is played by Julianne Moore, who portrays the often uninformed Republican in a somewhat unflattering light. Based on the book by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann, the movie also stars Ed Harris as Palin's running mate John McCain.

The movie has received significant criticism from right-wing conservatives who believe it is an unjust portrayal. Palin herself said Game Change "lapsed into a tired routine of manipulating facts and omitting key parts in order to push a biased agenda and drive ratings."
