presobama200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - The A-listers came out in full force for President Obama's state dinner honoring UK Prime Minister David Cameron Wednesday. George Clooney, who came to Washington to testify in the Senate about human right's violations in the Sudan, was placed at the VIP table next to Michelle Obama.

The prime minister's wife Samantha Cameron sat next to the President, and Homeland star Damian Lewis sat directly across from her. Lewis' wife Helen McCory and Downtown Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville were also at the table.

In addition to Clooney there were a bunch of other Hollywood heavyweights like Harvey Weinstein, who will present a screening of the documentary Bully to teachers and other educators later today.

Idris Elba and Wendell Pierce, who star in one of Obama's favorite shows, The Wire, attended along with Richard Branson and Warren Buffett.

Guests feasted on a variety of dishes - many of which contained vegetables from the First Lady's White House garden - and were entertained by R&B singer John Legend and the folk band Mumford & Sons.
