katyperryparamount200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Katy Perry's Twitter followers are getting the first glimpse of the singer's upcoming feature-length film.

The movie will hit theaters July 2 on 100 screens across North America, three days in advance of its nationwide release on July 5, Paramount Insurge Pictures announced Thursday.

"From Katy's first Tweet announcing the movie, her fans have been incredibly passionate and supportive and we want to make sure they are among the first to see the film they helped shape," president Amy Powell said in a statement.

A special hashtag has been created for the microblogging site, which will direct fans to a page allowing them to buy advance tickets to the screenings. Twitter has been incredibly influential in the pop singer's career, allowing her to intimately connect with her loyal fans.

"The use of Twitter throughout the making and release of Katy Perry: Part of Me illustrates the power of Twitter to break down barriers between artists like Katy and their fans," Twitter CEO Dick Costolo added.

The studio behind the flick was also responsible for bringing Canadian teen sensation Justin Bieber: Never Say Never to theaters.
