lawless052012_01_200.jpg LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Shia Labeouf is hoping to score a role in Danish director Lars von Trier's upcoming erotic drama Nymphomaniac. The actor is in talks to join the film, which is set to begin production in September.

Nymphomaniac follows the sexy adventures of a woman (played by Charlotte Gainsbourg) from her youth to age 50, as recounted to her husband (Stellan Skarsgaard). It's not clear what role Labeouf would play or how much time he would take up on screen.

The project will be split into two films - one softer version and one more explicit version. Although no domestic distributor is on board yet, the film has already received financial backing from NRW Filmstiftung and will shoot in the German state of North-Rhine Westphalia.

Labeouf has made a string of indie movies lately, from Lawless to The Company You Keep.

Von Trier directed headline grabbing Melancholia.
