LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Robert Downey Jr. is set to star in Sherlock Holmes, the drama that Guy Ritchie will direct for Warner Bros, according to Variety. Joel Silver, Lionel Wigram, Susan Downey and Dan Lin are producing the film, which begins shooting in October. The film is based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic literature, but also on the comic book Sherlock Holmes.

Friends star Courteney Cox will be joining the cast of Scrubs for a three-episode run as Sacred Heart's new Chief of Medicine, according to Entertainment Weekly. Back in May, executive producer Bill Lawrence revealed to EW that he was looking to "stunt cast" the character who would be playing the chief of medicine, and according to an insider close to the show, Cox will "ruffle feathers," in the upcoming season.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Courteney Cox is returning to network television in a new series for ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cox will star in "Cougar Town," a single-camera comedy about a newly-single 40-year-old mother. The series will be written by "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel.

"Forty-year-old women on TV are so beautiful and perfect and wrinkle-free," said Lawrence, who first worked with Cox when he was a writer on "Friends." "People don't do the reality of it, and there is a real comedy area about a woman who is talking about Botox, about having sex with the lights on and how her body is changing."

Cox recently starred on and exec produced the FX drama "Dirt," which was produced by ABC Studios.

LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - After a reported falling out, it looks like Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox have patched up their friendship.

The split was reportedly sparked after Cox was seen at Chris Cornell concert with Aniston's ex-husband, Brad Pitt. The rift was furthered by Courteney spending more time with other Hollywood moms like Isla Fisher and Jennifer Meyer Maguire. The pair were also separated as Jennifer spent several months in New York filming "The Baster."

But on Thursday night, the two former "Friends" stars seemed to have reconciled. The dined at the Water Grill in Downtown Los Angeles, before walking two block to Staples Center to attend the Fleetwood Mac concert.

"They were laughing and enjoying the LA nightlife," a witness tells X17online. "They totally looked like they did back on 'Friends' - two women having a girls night out, joking, having fun. They really were in a great mood. They were even holding hands on the way out of the restaurant."
