A legend has passed on.

Mary Tyler Moore has passed away at the age of 80. TMZ reported that the actress was in "grave" condition at a Connecticut hospital and family was rushing to her bedside to say their final goodbyes, and that she had been on a respirator for the last week.

The iconic star publicly battled diabetes for many years, and underwent surgery for a benign brain tumor in 2011.

"Today, beloved icon Mary Tyler Moore passed away at the age of 80 in the company of friends and her loving husband of over 33 years, Dr. S. Robert Levine. A groundbreaking actress, producer, and passionate advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Mary will be remembered as a fearless visionary who turned the world on with her smile," her rep said in a statement.
