It is so sad that some people take joy in others suffering (Anonymous @1:22 and 12:55pm) I have been personally affected by suicide and yes I agree that it is a selfish thing to do but how dare some people say "pull the trigger" Someday when someone you knows tries this because statistics say they probably will I hope you remember what you have said to this man. Karma is a killer, literally. To Owen and his family stick together and stay strong whatever the cause know that there is a plan for you and it is greater than this event. once again...I'll keep my mouth shut on 99% of things but turn to the Lord for the end is near. The Bible is the truth.Pray daily and take back your sins.

I can speak from experience about suicide. I have been in such excruciating mental and emotional agony that being alive is torture. Sheer torture. I was not taught in my family life how to cope with life.. I was taught horrible ideas and a mindset that is so limiting and terrifying that noone...noone would want to live in my shoes...

It is a challenge but I realize that there is a beautiful world in which I can live where I am safe and peaceful... Owen I think you are awesome...just an awesome guy in every way and I pray that you learn ways of coping with life and looking at life so that you find great peace and joy! From the bottom of my heart... find the way! It's not the view.. it's the viewpoint and you CAN change it. I am living proof!

I agree with Sara! Until you are affected personally by a suicide you won't know what words such as "pull the trigger" means.

It is definitaly a selfish act. The ones that are left behind are suffer too. When someone commits suicide they are thinking clearly or how it will effect their loved ones. I can say I have gone through some very dark times in my life & have had thoughts of suicide many times during the years after my dad shot himself. But the one thing that has stopped me is I couldn't do that to my mother.

IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU... it is about a mind set and a place so horrible that noone can stand the pain.. it is about getting ride of the pain... to tell someone that has tried to committ suicide that they are selfish is cruel! IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU! The person that tries to committ suicide needs to be loved unconditionally and supported and taught to view the world in a positive light. Count yourself extremely lucky if you have never felt so tortured that the only relief is death!

6:25 staying alive for "someone else" is a terrible place to be. Youn need to be so inlove with yourself and life that nothing... can stop you from wanting to enjoy life the way it was meant to be enjoyed!

Uh yeah....suicide is selfish. I know I tried it, so did my brother (on separate occasions). So yeah we DO know. It's selfish. When you think of offing yourself, you are thinking of your own little pitty party and nobody else. Either that or you're so freakin twisted that you think that by offing yourself, that someone is gonna feel bad for not being nice to you or whatever. So stop with the bullshit about praying and that it's all about pain and shit. It's a selfish copout when you can't deal with the mess you've made of your own sorry life. Suck it up, move on...or yeah - g'head and pull the freakin trigger - do it right, or don't do it. Pitty stops like takin pills and making little cuts are cry outs for attention-and that my friend, is low, and SELFISH!
