Music NoDoubt200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - 'No Doubt' is planning a tour next year, according to the band's official website.

"We need to play. It's been too long," wrote bassist Tony Kanal. "I feel like it's time for some rock and roll."

No cities or dates were announced, but sources say the tour will likely take place in the summer of 2009.

"I don't think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again," singer Gwen Stefani wrote on No Doubt's Web site.

The band, who've been together for more than 20 years, is also preparing to start work on its first studio album since 2001's "Rock Steady."

During the break, Stefani, released two solo albums and became a mother to sons Kingston and Zuma with husband Gavin Rossdale.
