EfronBoxOffice200.jpgLOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Zac Efron's "17 Again" easily won this weekend's box office race, proving the "High School Musical" star can open a film for a studio other than Disney.

The floppy-haired heartthrob's comedy brought in an estimated $24.1 million in it's opening weekend, easily beating Russell Crow's political-thriller "State of Play," which earned only $14.1 million.

Dreamworks' animated "Monsters Vs Aliens" took third place with another $12.9 million, while last week's top flick Miley Cyrus' "Hannah Montana: The Movie" dropped to fourth with $12.6 million in ticket sales - just slightly ahead of the $12.2 million "Fast and Furious" brought in to take the fifth spot.
