LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Lady GaGa attended the Human Rights Campaign dinner on Saturday night in Washington D.C., where she performed a cover of John Lennon's "Imagine" and paid tribute to Matthew Shepard, the young gay man who was brutally murdered in a hate crime over a decade ago.

Lady GaGa switched around some of the lyrics in the song to reflect her views on gay rights, and the following day she spoke at the National Equality March, where she said, "[The HRC event] was about the march and about the future and about reform and legislation, and President Obama gave us an incredible, incredible speech where he really, really took a stand against hatred and inequality."
What a shame President Obama doesn't actually -do- something. Words are cheap.
Rest in peace Matthew.
He (Obama) is too busy doing TV spots. While I don't agree with the lifestyle I pray for Matthew's family and may Matthew rest in peace. This was/is a horrible tragedy. Peace!
