LOS ANGELES, California (X17online) - Chaz Bono sat down with Good Morning America to discuss his new life as a man, and even though he's going through gender reassignment in the public eye, he seems to be handling it quite well.
Bono, who is eight months into his transformation tells GMA, "This was a very difficult decision to make, but it was the best decision I've ever made. I feel great ... I feel so much more comfortable that I've ever been. I've felt male as far back as I can remember."

Chaz Bono was born Chastity Bono, and he says he always identified more with boys. "I felt like one of the boys. My friends were boys," he said. "In school I related to boys ... As you get older it's more confusing. Suddenly, there's more pressure to fit in to your assigned gender."
Bono has received hormone treatments that have caused his voice to deepen, and he's already at the point where he can shave his face. While the whole process is a very private matter, Bono says he knew it was what he wanted. "Then it came down to realizing that I have to live my life for myself and that life is short and life is precious." Looking back, Bono said, "it would almost be easy to say, 'Why did I wait so long to do this?'"
Sorry, she is still a female. It is all cosmetic and superficial. Is everyone really that dense?
I think your dense. Your brain is your #1 sex organ. If you truly identify with male or female gender, it doesn't matter what society thinks or what people like you think who could never imagine what is like to be that position.
When a person transgenders it is never a complete process. You haven't been reconceived in your mother's womb. You may have made the best attempt possible to become the opposite sex but it ends there. Also, the psychosocial and personality developments can never be redone. The new you will forever be stuck in the middle of a male and female. You have made the best attempt to change anatomically and hormonally but your personality development can never be redone and in your newly assigned gender you may never be attractive to the opposite sex. In a sense you are cursed for the rest of your life. Its a very sad situation!

hey in the after life, he/she/it? what ever will come back as the ugly a$$ cow that it is....uggggghhhhhhh ross
You are born what you are. I don't understand why anyone would change that. You were made specifically for a purpose. Trying to change that only results in a "bandaid fix", covering up who you really are. How low your self esteem must be grasp at such measures. Sorry to hear this news.
It's not just "cosmetic and superficial". When a person does this surgically and hormonally all the way, a transgendered person from female to male has a total hysterectomy, double mastectomy, testosterone therapy which between all changes muscle mass, voice, and facial hair. When they get to the last operation, where they do make the only cosmetic part, artificial testicles, then all is complete. I am totally heterosexual and couldn't see myself kissing another woman, but to the prior post: If you don't understand, then keep your thoughts to yourself until you do since it just doesn't sound very intelligent and enlightened. It's kinda like when your mama said "if you don't have anything nice to say, keep your mouth SHUT". Thank you for listening.
To Animal Owner...good advice...perhaps you should take it.
Geez...you guys need to chill out. I agree that she will always be she, no matter what medicine she takes or what surgery she undergoes. Just like the girl who had a baby and they made a big deal about a "pregnant man" ...etc. Garbage. At the end of the day though, I could care less that these people are choosing to do this. It is their life. I feel more for their children (if they have any) and the teasing/confusion they will endure. That part is cruel and selfish.
Ok i don't know why anyone would want a change in the first place but a girl to a guy? Girls have more power in the world anyway all they have to do is play the sex card and the guy they do it on is fucked for a while until it is proven to be fake but then still he is looked at like he is a monster.
Tragic. Gender is determined genetically--not as a function of the brain. The brain may be a major orgain in terms of sexuality, but the brain has no role in determining whether you receive two "X" chromosomes or one "X" and one "Y." God determines your gender. Sadly, abuse and confusion may later confuse development. But science offers no support that deviations from heterosexuality has anything to do with genetics, no matter how politicized and emotionalized the issue becomes.
