Yankees Owner George Steinbrenner Dies At 80

georgesteinbrenner200.jpgMANHATTAN, New York (X17online) - George Steinbrenner, New York Yankees owner, died at the age of 80 after suffering a heart attack.

Steinbrenner had just celebrated his 80th birthday on the 4th of July. According to the AP, he died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida at 6:30am.

Known as "the Boss," Steinbrenner led the Yankees for more than 30 years ... watching them win seven World Series championships.

He was also known for his infamous feuds on the field. The Yankees' owner leaves behind his wife and four children.

Funeral arrangements, according to the family, will be private. Details on an additional public service will be announced at a later date.
